Really crunched for time now!
I got a new Plasma cutter and this was its first job- cutting the bed. We need to practice with it! Works great, but a circular saw blade makes such a perfect cut. The Plasma will save us some time (hopefully) on some of our truck builds. I have never had one...
LOL--- we had a small 'technical' difficulty!
Its ironic that this truck was going to get done very 'quickly' ----- only to have unforseen holdups along the way that has delayed its completion. The driveshaft is SUPPOSED to be ready tomorrow and she'll be done. I really try to do as much...
I am shooting for Thurs, but my departure might turn into Fri also, depending on work. Been trying to get the 5 ton done, but pesky customers keep getting in the way!!! LOL
Dug-- what time are you going to swing by the shop on your way out to pick up your stuff?
The Heli vid gives me an idea---
anyone have any old crappy RC airplanes they would want to fly thru "the clean up area" for fun? It may be they last time they fly! That would be fun!!!!!!
Its not so much that I think its a gray area per se, but I just hate to tell a customer something, and then the DMV tells them something else! Seems like it sometimes depends who you talk to-
advice-- when you go to the DMV, give them the minimun info possible and dont ask any questions...
I am going for "The biggest Truck" award at Camp DB this year! Building this one as we speak--
The Plan-
Take a VERY nice 10K mile M818, lose the 5th whl hitch, install 16.00-20 XZL tires on HEMTT wheels, cut and shorten a deuce bed and mount it so there is a walkway between the tool...
Well, I was hoping to be done with this bobber by now---
My driveline shop has held me up a bit for the first time-- everything else is done. Just need the driveline to get finished and installed.
Got the bed shortened and mounted. Got the wheels and tires installed today (no pic yet)...
I dont have another bobber sold after this one-- unless I get an order in the next few days, I'd like to build one same as this one, but paint it tan or green, and set it up with duals-- 11.00-20s--- I have some 95%plus tread Mich XLs and some 95%plus Goodyear G177s that I think would look/work...
Thx, Guys---
Like I have said before- there are many ways to do this---- . This is how we do it. I am always open to great ideas and can change it if I decide to. Some peoples' opinions I value greatly, and others are just wasted oxygen. I always value constructive comments or criticism...
They are great!
Here is a progress report for today-- its shorter now! And we have the subframe assembly prepped for install--
JP--- it doesnt look like we will make it for the weekend--- probably will need another day or 2--- sorry, bro! (but I'm still gonna try!)
