    ID of unknown item

I’m pretty sure that is a tool rack that mounts to the bottom of the vehicle and holds an ax, shovel, etc. usually missing too. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/hmmwv-pioneer-tool-rack.156540/

    M1097A1 Belt Help

The 3 belts match because they all go around all of the pulleys and need to be the same length, ps belt only goes around the crank and water pump I think, and is shorter.

In need of A/C evaporator diagram/pictures

I ran it through the hole the smaller a/c line came up through in the floor.

    Dummy Sincgars 1523e ASIP radio

At this point it’s an empty box, no power connections. It’s printed to connect at the back to keep it in place. It’s a work in progress, going to reinstall my tray assy with it. Really completes the look imo.

    Dummy Sincgars 1523e ASIP radio

I’ve wanted to fill my radio tray with an RT-1523e, but they are pretty much non existent even as parts. I’ve been wanting to make a dummy so when my brother bought a 3D printer I convinced him he needed one (or 2) for his 1165a. He’s about done with his model and a prototype - eventually I’ll...

New Style Turret Hatch bolt question

Thank you! I will do that. I was concerned about using SS with the aluminum but it’s the most sensible idea.

New Style Turret Hatch bolt question

Now that my a/c is working, I’m going to address the water leaking issues with the turret and slant back by sealing stuff up. One big issue is the bolts I have for the hatch hinge (not shown) and strut support when turret is open are the correct style and size, but the finish is black oxide -...

    Mrfarb’s 2009 M1151a1 build thread

I see suggestions about shorting across relays, but honestly I think charging it to increase system pressures is the best way to test everything. Maybe get your auto shop to attempt to charge it - they will let you know if you have issues. If you have a good compressor at home the vacuum tool...

    Mrfarb’s 2009 M1151a1 build thread

Initial assessment- no Freon in the system, no activity from any component. All components present and connected properly Step 1- attempted to vacuum system, system would not hold vacuum Step 2 - assessment of system by adding Freon and looking for any leaks. Large hole located in hose...

    Mrfarb’s 2009 M1151a1 build thread

Success! With Mogmans help learning how to read wiring diagrams, both condenser fan sets operate properly. So I finished charging the a/c! My next post tonight I’m going to give a step by step diagnosis and repair of my auction purchased m1151a1 a/c. For fun here’s the temp reading from the...

    Mrfarb’s 2009 M1151a1 build thread

Sure thing, when it’s fixed I’ll update, here’s the thread I got the diagram from: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/oem-air-conditioning-troubleshooting.219793/

    Mrfarb’s 2009 M1151a1 build thread

OK, bit of confusion on my part or yours - rear evap works perfectly, left cond fans work. It’s the right side condenser fan set that is inoperative.

    A/C Diagnostic help

My low side is about 30, high side is about 200 but I’m at least 16oz low on Freon.

    Mrfarb’s 2009 M1151a1 build thread

I see, I need to pay better attention - time to give it a rest until tomorrow. Now that you say that I see - I need to confirm power is coming in to the relay at 445a and move backward from there. Thanks for the help.

    Mrfarb’s 2009 M1151a1 build thread

Of course, I see that now. No other schematics that I can find, but if the rear evap powers the left fans which are working, there must be a 437 wire at the front evap. I notice it’s missing from this schematic.

    A/C Diagnostic help

I’m using a set of gauges now - you have them mixed up, red is high pressure side, blue is low pressure side.

    Mrfarb’s 2009 M1151a1 build thread

First issue - condenser fans on right rear aren’t coming on, left rear are working. Thought someone might be able to explain this - factory a/c front and rear. Just charging it, left rear cond fans run normal, right rear are not running - looked at wiring diagram and both are powered from the...

    Mrfarb’s 2009 M1151a1 build thread

Figured I’d start a thread about my 1151a1 to keep all my junk in one place, easier to find anyway. First thread involved installing glow plugs: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/glow-plug-day-for-my-1151a1-rev.220382/ Today, it’s time to recharge the a/c to test it. When I got the truck...
