I never liked the Gama Goat. They are ugly, look like a committee of short-bus occupants designed it, it's loud as ****, the heater has two settings - off and broil, it never really floats unless you pray a couple times before you try it out, not really great for mounting guns or other weapons...
SF-97 is the government form used for you to obtain a title with.
Nice M715! Looks like most everything is there - put some Marvel Mystery Oil in the spark plug holes, let it soak overnight. The next day put some fresh gas and batteries in it, see what she does!
Why not use a M101 trailer bed for your purpose? The metal is thicker and it will match up to the axle position on the M880. Might be easier to find than a rust-free original bed.
Don't bob. Whenever I'm offroading with other MV owners, it always seems to be the bobbed trucks that end up getting stuck. Don't join the "short bus" community. Keep her un-neutered and 3-axles long.
Does anyone have a BBQ stove or grill I can borrow for a few meals between Friday night and Sunday morning? I don't have a lot to cook - just I have no stove at the moment...
Checked the weather for the weekend - Friday is partly cloudy, Saturday mostly cloudy, both days high around 54 and lows in the upper 30s.
Dress warm and bring a thick sleeping bag!
I believe the 5,000 lb tow limit is WITH trailer brakes, and I know that his jeep and the air brakes of the trailer are not compatible. Hope it's not far, and he has good insurance.
Back from the work weekend - had a great time and got some important work done on the boat that has been needed for some time. From what I heard from the chief of the boat, it was one of the most productive work weekends they have ever had. About 30 people showed up and a lot of wrenches...
The engines are Fairbanks Morse, 4 each, and each one is a horizontally-opposed 10-cylinder diesel. They are close to the same type as used in FM locomotives. The Navy said we could restore the engines to operational (just don't turn the shafts), but we are missing some engine parts to get...
This is the only big work weekend this year. Doesn't require full commitment, even half a day is appreciated. But there are a few local folks who are there every Saturday morning to polish a couple things and keep her nice and neat.
Will take pictures tomorrow.
Those are important, don't cap the line or remove the line, the axles need to breathe. Offroaders who go in a lot of water take those lines and semi-hardline them in so they aren't as flexible as rubber hose, and usually bring the line up on the firewall, then make a "U" in the line so the open...
Check my location vs. your location - might help you or not having me tow back to my place. I can take a day off work and make the tow, just going to be a long ride (about 7 hours round trip) so 17 mpg, you figure out the bill for the tow. Willing to do it - I have other stuff I can do down...
