I have an M1031 on 37's which is a heavy brick which requires a full throttle approach to most anything. I have a mechanical Autometer guage in the driver side head. It reads 190 pretty much all the time once it comes up to temp and maybe pushes 200 on a super hot day being flogged up a hill. I...
Probably because they never work or work well for an extended period of time. I also believe that by design lag in transferring power when going from drive to reverse or reverse to drive along with providing no engine braking.
I think if you are going electric that a primary and secondary filter setup is key to keeping the pump surviving along with proper placement. I agree, it needs to be near the tank and closer to the bottom of the tank like being tucked in the frame rail and not up high.
I personally would...
I've got 3 years on the yellow Tygon which I used on my fuel tank connections. So far no issues and is great when purging air, I can see what is going in and coming out of the tank. I personally would not use it in the engine bay for the heat ratings as discussed. I'm glad another SS member...
Most conventional trailers I have pulled like U-Haul or basic utility I've needed a 10" drop mount. I think for anything serious I would want a trailer with a taller ride height and maybe even with a lunette to avoid excess leverage.
I wouldn't know. Did you try finding a used one from an M1028A3? Maybe a vendor on here has one for sale. Probably would only require some fitment work if the axle tube diameters are different. I'd start there unless you can find one for a K30 specifically. This is not rocket science, junkyards...
Page 5-11 shows you the rod (29) and the two adjusting nuts (27/25). I would first take the rod out of the tcase shift lever (9) and engage the tcase manually into 4HI. Do the same test to see if it jumps out of gear. If it does, you have internal issues (most likely a bent shift fork, worn...
Hate to say it but you probably just dodged a bullet. That truck looked rough and if the owner didn't care about its appearance or functionality with what I saw in the photos, it is not worth owning. Especially if you have to take a note out on it.
Good luck, lots of variations in yokes and seals in that era of trucks and axles.
Honestly, give a place like Randy's Ring & Pinion or a good driveline shop. They will know exactly what fits. Another place to try is Rockauto.com, you will be able to at least get the seal dimensions to compare...
I agree, definitely rule out the linkage being the cause. I've had lots of Jeeps with shift issues because people make poor adjustments to those setups. The chain case with a dogleg pattern for some reason tends to not fully engage 4wd and pop out of goes past 4HI and begins to head into Neutral...
Don't bust the guy for financing it, many banks make a living financing classic cars and such. Make sure you are able to afford it either way.
I have to be honest with you, I agree with the damage these guys pointed out. That rig looks like it has been through the ringer. I would either walk...
Body looks pretty clean, I would hunt around looking for repairs either way.
At that price point I personally would want a fairly turn key rig only needing minor work. Also inspect the suspension since it has been modified. You do not want to find any hokey stuff like huge lift blocks or...
I'm glad you picked this up, seems like you are enjoying the new ride!
You can use your existing A/C compressor for onboard air if you fix the clutch. You just need an inline oiler and dryer. Remember, if you want A/C in the cab like we discussed, the hard work is already done. You have a...
Wait, you guys can actually hear music while driving?
I have a pair of 12" subs in a truck box with horns because I need that volume to listen to music, especially with the ear plugs in...
