In high range, the 6CTA has little power from a dead stop. Once the truck gets rolling, and the turbo starts to spool up, the truck should pull nicely. Every time I pull out somewhere, I am disappointed by the power. Now, in low range, the truck has serious power...but most of us run around...
Ethan was a good man and good friend; we talked often. I wish I were in a position to purchase this stuff, but I have other projects going on. In my opinion, the M35A2C is worth $4K even with the issues...probably $5K if you got it running properly.
Good luck with the sale.
Use 80W-90 gear oil. Any brand name would be fine. I use Valvoline. Some guys swear by synthetic; I used non-synthetic, but that is more because of price and the fact that these are hobby trucks for me and never get worked.
Like the others have said...it could be a number of things. Check the light switch...check the bulbs...check to make sure the turn signal switch on the steering column is grounded properly...make sure the lights themselves are grounded properly. If all of that checks out, it could be the...
Check out the picture of the torn floor mat. Do you see the dirt/mud that appears to be moist? I bet there is rust in the floor. Get underneath and inspect the underside of the floor board. Also, see if you can pry up the mat where it is loose. Condensation forms underneath the floor mat...
At full extension, I believe the boom can lift 4,500 pounds. I, for one, don't think it is going to be as useful as you think. In order to be able to get the full lifting capacity, you have the have the boom fully retracted, with the legs secured to the back of the truck and to the boom (this...
Letting them idle is better than nothing, but it is not enough for them. They need to be up to full operating temperature and really driven. Driving your truck provides the exercise that it needs.
Believe it or not, the wheel might be out of balance. A good friend on this list, GIJOECZAR, talked to me about this a little while back. He had a situation that seemed like flat spots on the tires that never smoothed out. He took the tires to a shop that shaved the uneven spots off of the...
I know you did not ask me, Adam, but, since I own an M916A1 and an M916A2 (the M916A1 is equivalent to his M915A2) I can say that I am sure the truck brought a smile to his face. They have power to spare...430 HP, 1400+ foot pounds of torque. Unfortunately, no A/C in the M915A2 and M916A1. My...
This was the truck from Aberdeen, right? Nice looking truck and great job on the paint! I actually thought the paint on the truck was fairly good, no? Any pics of it before the paint? Thanks!
No one said they had to file a travel plan. If you are so sure you are in the clear, please PM your next travel route and I will definitely contact the law enforcement agency in your area. You won't do it because you want to skirt under the law. That is my point. If I am mistaken, please...
Does trailering a truck prove ownership more than driving off the base? I hope someone else asked about that, because I did not. I never questioned ownership. As far as I can tell, this has never been about proving ownership. Does paying taxes prove that a truck is more or less safe? Maybe...
GE, I specifically said that I would NOT do that. The point, which escaped you, was to consider what would happen if the cops knew your route. Go back and read my post.
Nice response. Perhaps, you just shut down what I said. Or, not. People need to make sure that THEIR insurance carriers intend to cover their vehicles when they drive them home. Sure, I have assumed the same thing, and it has been confirmed, when I drove a new vehicle off a lot. However...
