No pics, forget to take them last night. I sprayed down the sticky areas with brake cleaner. It softened up the yuck so I could scrape it off with a putty knife. Almost finished cleaning it up. After that, I’ll clean up the frame where the tank mounts, then primer all of them and re-install.

Today was the start of cleaning up the gas tank. The top part ain’t too bad. The lower half is covered in some kind of tar. Then it was painted, dirt all over, then more paint. This may take a while. Pics:

Every day a bit more gets done. Once I’m finished with the exterior passenger side, I’ll see what can be done with the original fuel filter. In the picture, you can see the opening for the filter. It’s just forward of the battery box. Pics:

I started sanding the cab and the frame forward of the cab. Lots of little spaces to get into. Tedious is what it looks like. There was at least 4 coats of white paint that’s coming off before I get to the GI green. Pic:
