i would disconnect all of the 24 volt connections from the starter and fuel pumps and see if the DC breaker still breaks then if it doesn't i would add each one back one at a time and recheck . if it breaks with everything disconnected you probably have a short in the harness. don't forget to...
you can get non detergent 30wt and put a touch of STP or other zinc additive of your choice. i have had to use Bon Ami to seat rings in the past. usually on an engine with glazed rings. fullers earth will work also but is more aggressive.
the JD break in oil is formulated to meet standards as not to mess up the diesel particulate emissions systems on the tractors. the MEP gensets don't have DPF on their exhausts. i wouldn't use a 10w30 in the onan diesel. most break in oil for these type is just a non detergent single...
i would not run it again until i changed the oil. and then with fresh oil and filter if it still carries 7 psi cold i would shut it down immediately and take corrective action. i forgot about the knocking noise. you may want to turn the engine by hand to feel for a loose rod. it is possible...
so at operating temp and rpm you have 20 psi and at idle cold you have 7 psi? or does the oil pressure start out at 20 and drop to 7 when the engine warms to operating temp and 1800rpm? i would bet that there is no thermostat installed. if i were you i would change the oil to a known spec...
need more info. was this at idle? engine temp? new known oil? did the pressure suddenly drop to 7 or has it always been? you used a mechanical gauge to check?
the cut off solenoid should fully engage the lever on the governor housing when the engine is running and should fully disengage the lever when shut off. the governor controls the fuel rack that each metering pump is connected to. the governor should be adjustable for max speed. if the engine is...
I agree. if it runs fine on 100 percent for fifteen minutes then bogs tells me it is just running low on fuel pressure. i would put an inline gauge in the primary fuel line so i could monitor the primary fuel pressure as it fails. i would bet you have a bad electric fuel pump that fades as it...
sounds like you got a good set. don't worry about the reset and just get it baselined yourself and you will have a better understanding of your new machine,so when you really need it in an extended outage you will have confidence in solving any little things that come up. you couldn't be in a...
all of the above is in order. also when you throw the whole dead house on line at once you are starting all of the loads AC/wellpump/freezer/and on and on all at the same time. try unplugging or turning off the cyclic loads and bring them on one at a time.
Primary fuel pressure is very very important to any diesel engine. i would check the spec after the fuel filters and see what the pressure is when the engine falls on it's head.
yea it sucks to be in a panicked market but that is what it is. get a new air filter and set the valves and adjust the timing on each fuel pump. get one of those laser type temp gauges or even better a thermal camera to see if you have a cool cylinder. make sure the primary fuel pressure is up...
as far as price. i purchasheed an 802A with about 5000 hours from a craigslist ad a few month ago. i paid 700 dollars delivered to my residence. the unit runs fine and makes good power but it also has a few cosmetic issues and some other problems i need to address before it is ready for an...
if you made a deal for a fully functional machine that's what you should get,or a refund,or any other deal that you and the seller can be happy with and in that order. "just my opinion no offense". now as far as repair if you decide to keep it then this is the place to ask and source for...
Sounds like you can do it. this site has the expertise and resources to help you get it running so it just needs to be at a price you are happy with.
