Did a quick search and found this. Prefer to see A/C Cages solution, but it does show that it can be done without getting too extreme of a structure.
I do not work or support this company, just an example of what is out there. ROPS & FOPS Canopies for Trucks
FMJ: Sorry, didn't mean to divert again.
Tex Andy or any other, happy to discuss via PM if interested. I will not respond in this thread except to discuss ROPS ideas or input from this point forward. Sorry.
Not sure, I'm not a lawyer. I guess they could raise legal issues with GL for allowing these vehicles to be sold, and require mutilation and scrapping. I believe they did that with used ammo brass claiming it was a public safety issue. It took public outrage to get that over turned.

I don't know but would an ultrasonic cleaner work?
It would definitely be more benign then a wire wheel, but it would also clean them inside and out. (i.e., is there anything inside that would be a concern. Specifically aluminum or anything softer then aluminum
My brother spends a lot of time with his friends going up and down rivers in his area. I had mentioned that as one of the selling points to me getting a deuce, and I am now cringing a bit. :)
I know there is a procedure you have to do before going through the water and then reverse after you...
I like the idea of hiding some of the structure to mimic a m66 mount. Part of my attraction to the Deuce is keeping it looking like a military truck.
You are going to need some triangulation to get the strength you need, but as long as it looks like something the military would have made as...
Curious, with all the aftermarket support for the Rockwell axles, are their products out there that will seal up the axle better to make it more tolerant of this type of fun?
... or do the people in the high priced off road vehicles have to do the same maintenance on their beefed up axles?
I have heard a few concerns about the ATF additives being an issue but know nothing about it, just echoing another thread input.
I thought veggie oil had the opposite effect of cleaning everything or is that only Bio diesel that does that because of the extra acidity?
I would love to go buy a Jerry Can for my Deuce.... oh wait some freaking lawyer decided that people are not capable of operating a normal fuel can and now the entire country via CARB laws are not allowed to buy a freaking normal fuel can.
THAT is the issue. If someone wants to put a ROPS...
I assumed that was part of the reasoning for the storage location of the hoops in the M35A2C. It doesn't offer much more but may stop something light from coming into the cab.
Just found out that Jerry/scepter fuel cans are illegal to purchase in the US. Something about people being too stupid to use a fuel can so the lawmakers stepped in to save us from ourselves??? I can only assume that is why you couldn't keep the fuel cans, no idea about the water cans.
Here is what I have on my to bring list:
3 jugs of Prestone Antifreeze 50/50 mix (ethylene glycol) - already have
5 gallons of NAPA brand 80/90wt GL-5/MT-1 gear oil (NAPA closed before I could get to their store, something about a holiday that is coming up or something. :)
5 gallons Delo...
I have been trying to research oils, etc., and there seems to be a lot of opinions out there. Based on this being on an Airforce base, what fluids do I need to bring to top off what is already in the truck?
What SAE type of oil should I bring for the Transmission, Transfer case, engine, axles...
I actually ended up buying one from GL and will be picking it up next week if things work out. EUC came back after 9 days so I was caught a little by surprise and trying to get everything together this holiday weekend.
I have thought the same thing about folding everything down and putting a...
