Brian Asbury, PO Box 26, Milton, Ontario, Canada L9T 2Y3. 519-853-1738 tel/fax. There is also a guy in NY (I think) used to do business as something like Pops GMC parts - ACE will know who this is. HTH, David Doyle

    towing a 5 ton

As most of you know, I have a reasonable amount of experience driving ex military 6x6s - though there are many on this list who have more - DavidB comes first to mind, with Kenny right behind. I have all the right equipment, all the little bits and bobs, all the tech manuals, and a reasonable...

RoboImpact Wrench for Slave Recepticle? Got any?

Kevin Emdee at Star Electric usually has these - his ads are in Military Vehicles Magazine. DD

M135 Fuel tank and pump assembly

The correct M135 tank and pump will probably be cheaper than that from a M35A2 (supply and demand). You may try Brian Asbury for these items. HTH, David Doyle

    1953 530 B Restore Documentation Pics

RE: Re: RE: 1953 530 B Restore Documentation Pics R6602 was in five-tons, deuces had Reo OA-331 (or licensed-built copies from Continental, the COA-331). DD

    towing a 5 ton

Amen to Bruce - I've done a considerable amount of flat towing (well, considerable to anyone but Kenny) of deuces with deuces - once you learn the "tricks" its not tough. Moved a dead five ton around on an airfield with a deuce - that taught me I'd not even consider the tow on the highway. DD

    Deuce Brake Parts

Clinto is dead on the money - got this lesson in spades last week. Kept a pile of parts around here for 10 years. Tossed them a couple months ago - last week spent 500 bucks to replace them! DD

    Need Dead Deuce Help, Electrical

Hmmmm....well you MAY have a something bleeding off the power, that is an easy enough problem to check. If the truck only is to be used occassionally, charge the batteries, and disconnect the ground cable from the neg post. Come back in the prescribed amount of time and see how things are. No...

    M135 - M211 production figures

Deuceman, Since you have such an early machine, perhaps you can confirm some info for me. I presume that your truck does not have the splash shields between bumper and grille, is that correct? Does it have a slave receptacle? Just trying to confirm the ORD9.... Thanks, David Doyle

    M135 - M211 production figures

RE: Re: RE: M135 - M211 production figures I did list the M35 numbers - of course, doing this by M number is very misleading. It really should be done my Standard Nomenclature List (SNL) number. The SNL identifies the truck by chassis type - so folks aren't confused and realize that a M44A2...

    M135 - M211 production figures

Re: RE: M135 - M211 production figures You sure about that number? That would exceed M35A2 production 20 fold. The M44A2 series production total was 151483 between 1965 and 1988. Regards, David

    M135 - M211 production figures

Lifer, The first production M135 left the assembly line September 13, 1951. Don't have info about end at hand (not sure I have it at all). HTH, David Doyle

Next one to come back - 530C fire truck on M45A2 chassis

Jason, I'm 98% certain our trucks came from the same auction in Lebanon - the truck was SG OD FS595A 24087 - and it faded to a paler, flatter color. DD

Next one to come back - 530C fire truck on M45A2 chassis

RE: Nest one to come back - 530C fire truck on M45A2 chassis Sadly, far more has gone wrong than fading paint - details later. Garage would be nice - but not in the cards at the moment. DD

Next one to come back - 530C fire truck on M45A2 chassis

The fire truck hidden in the background of a photo in another thread brought on some comments - so here it is. The first photo is of the truck as I bought it. The second photo is with restoration about 90% done. The third photo is after I had to walk away from the project for about 4 years...

    One on its way back....

This time I've tried something different on the paint on the compressor. The 530C or pipeline will be getting yet another finishing technique - then I'll see how they do. Yes, both reels should have motors. Will start a new thread later this evening on it. DD

    One on its way back....

Lanty, Just an illusion, all tires are 9.00-20. dmetalmik - yes that is my class 530C on M45A2 chassis - its next up on the rehab list. It was about 95% restored when project was stopped. Just need to reinstall reels, replace hose decking and the Waterous Pump packing. Have much...
