    Has anyone seen this deuce???

    Jon, Yes to both - I was outbid on it back in 2002 - if its languishing somewhere - it should be languishing at my place - if somebody fixed it up, I'd like to see it! David

    One on its way back....

    Jon, No, the middle pic is FIVE year old Gillespie - I repainted the truck in 2002, replacing the Aervoe with Gillespie. I used a different paint this time - more info on that later after I do a bit of testing. DD

    Multifuel=?

    RE: Re: RE: Multifuel=? Fueling the Multifuel deuce is no more complicated than fueling your daily driver - pull up to a diesel pump, or gas pump, or kerosene pump, or jet fuel pump, and hang the nozzle in the tank. After filling tank, return nozzle to fuel dispenser, get in cab, start truck...

    Please tell me someone got this deuce.......

    Sounds like the one another SS member mentioned he bought a few days ago - if so, great, it'll be saved.

    Has anyone seen this deuce???

    This deuce (yep, its a gasser deuce) was sold by GL back in 2002 down at Montgomery, Alabama. Hoping its resting in a yard somewhere down there. Any hints, PM me. Thanks, David Doyle

    One on its way back....

    One of the most comprehensive restorations I've done, and the subject of the very first article I had published in a magazine, was the restoration of this Studebaker M45 with LeRoi 210G1 compressor. With the help of my dad and son, I restored the truck as close to possible to factory...

    Multifuel=?

    In the beginning the trucks were powered by a Reo OA-331 gasoline engine. The cargo variant wsa the M35 (also M34). The M35A1 cargo truck was powered by the LDS-427 Multifuel engine with turbosupercharger - these engines, BTW, had no fuel density compensator. The M35A2 cargo truck was...

    what is an 1952 M59 dump worth

    Re: RE: m59 dump I get 2 MPG with the five ton. The gasser compressor, which weighs, IIRC, 16000 lbs, gets 8-10 MPG - about the same as a Multifuel. Regards, David

    what is an 1952 M59 dump worth

    Oh, now you have found a cool truck! Forget the Cummins - a short gasser dump is just too cool. Looks to be mostly original. As it sits, if it is close to home, I wouldn't be afraid of 3-3500. Hope you get it. David

    Parts description needed

    Bjorn, I don't think it is a true o-ring because it is FSC class 5330 - packing and gasket material. O-rings are class 5331. Bet if you contact the last known supplier using the info Wayne provided above you could get the specs - or maybe even the rings. Wayne provided a contract number -...

    Cutting up a pole setting deuce

    This truck was cut up some time ago - he keeps reusing the photo to promote axle sales. I'd like to buy the frame of a polesetter (mine was butchered) and contacted the guy. I could not establish with certainty that he'd sell me the frame from the polesetter - nor could I get a firm price...

    lds 427-2 runs on silicone but not diesel

    Oh, the LDS-427 has a turbo. Unlike the LDT, whose turbo was put on solely for emmissions reasons, the 427's turbo was there for power. Unfortunately, the engine had a few other issues, and was replaced by the 465 fairly quickly. But indeed, the LD-465 is a great producer of smoke. Regards, David

    Deuce spitting coolant, but why?

    Hmmmm - do ya suppose the T-stat stuck? Was it overfilled to begin with? Do you have the fuel turned up?

    New Deuce trans?

    If he thinks taking the shift top off is "taking it apart" - then he probably doesn't know "new" from "new to me" If your tranny ain't broke, I'd pass...... DD

    Hood Vibration Dampeners

    GREAT JOB JD! Keep up the good work. Maybe we can race to completion on polesetters - but you're already way ahead of me! DD

    Is it truly an o-ring? - from the pic it looks like a square-cut ring. Regards, David

    lds 427-2 runs on silicone but not diesel

    RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: lds 427-2 runs on silicone but not diese If the truck is close to your house - and is less than a grand - presuming the frame is OK I'd go for it - if the engine runs at all, the starting situation can be fixed, and from the preservationist/restorer point of view, the 427...

    some help please.......

    The Reb kit was a product of Memphis Equipment Company - 901-774-0600. If you have issues with it, call before 4 central time sometime in the next year - their expert is retiring in about a year - and much knowledge is too. What issue are you having with the fuel can holder? Used canvas...

    Bjorn, No help here on the NSN data - BUT - there are a number of specialty rubber supply companies (I learned this in previous industries - if you need a name, PM me and I'll try to come up with one for you). Since you do in fact own your own business - dial one up, give them the measurements...
