I heard that Grinch took it out yesterday too.

    Flat Towing & Registration

What I would do is try to relocate it to NV prior to the registration expiring. I would think that once you are clear of that state, you would have a better chance of making the trip without being further violated.

    Joining the MV brotherhood

Congrats. I had a deuce or two in my yard for 20 years. Sometimes I do miss them.

    MEP-018A Won't Shut Off

They do have a semi unique sound albeit loud. There is a 3KW MEP016 at the FL Rally site used to power the field shower. It's smaller but still a flat 4. You can hear it at camp 200 yards away.

    MRE Heater Bracket

Should have been paying attention Sir. A couple of years back MWMules was practically giving them away along with 100 S&H Green Stamps, at the GA Rally.

    Sealant/ Gasket maker.

That's the name I couldn't recall. GMS is what that stuff was called. Might be what was present.

    Sealant/ Gasket maker.

Thanks Juan. Google has been my friend for the evening.

    Sealant/ Gasket maker.

That's what I've used in the past. I seem to recall a better product. Permatex has one specifically for gear oil applications that I might try.

    Sealant/ Gasket maker.

Folks, I'm working on a 14 bolt axle. In the past I've used Ultra copper on the axle shafts. My foggy memory recalls a better product used on Steel Soldiers for this application and oil pans and such. I can't recall the name to do a search. Anyone have any idea or suggestions? The stuff that...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Here's a little trick for those servicing the brakes on a 14 bolt. I'm always concerned about dry bearings when I pull a full float hub. Greasing can be a challenge with the way the outer bearing is situated. I use a needle on my grease gun to inject some grease between the rollers of the...

Tire slightly tilted out - M923A1

It's not evident in the picture. Starting inside and working out here could be the causes. Bent housing,. Deformed or broken knuckle, bad kingpins or bearings, Bent, broken or unbolted spindle or wheel bearings. Granted, most of these will cause the tire to lean in, some odd stuff could be...

    MRE Heater Bracket

Love the combat crock pots. Mount looks great.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Now that is a purpose built truck. Great execution and the front drive slide in the video was excellent.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I have been working on my 87 V30 (CUCV twist coming) brake system. I was stunned to see someone blew a hole in the rear backing plate with a torch. Thankfully, it was the same backing plate that was nearly worn through where the shoes contact it. New backing plates don't exist so a quick call...

Making ole boy a crew cab questions

The jig is probably the better way to get a superior build. Let me toss this out there for you. Most folks bend the back cab straight to line it up with the existing cab. The back of the cab is 10"wider. Consequently, the 939 cabs are 10" wider than the deuce cab. The front of a 939 cab...

    Direction of M35 winch PTO?

Output direction when truck is moving forward is still determined by the direction you choose on the PTO lever. Accessory drive would be the most streamlined install but it's your choice. If you decide to go full hydro, the M35A3 used hydro winch so there's an answer to running the winch...

    M1009 Steering Shenanigans...

15,000 miles is unheard of with an M1009. It's the preferred beer run truck of the armed forces.

Front axles not working in 4 wheel drive

Let me add this. I just watched part of the video, there are some less than ideal pointers in it. At least it gets your hub off.

Dive in there. This guys vid gives you an idea of how they come out. Didn't watch the whole thing. https://youtu.be/3rQZeV92OD4
