Do what you want, just don't paint it flat black! You'll end up cooking yourself.
I served and one of my trucks is yellow and white with flames and lots of chrome and the other is a semi gloss tan. Flat paint and semi gloss hides LOTS of imperfections.
I just read this whole thread, for me that's really something cause I usually just browse! It's amazing how a simple little project can get big real quick. Been there and still doing it.(shaking my head) I never realized you had put that much time and effort into the mule, one thing you didn't...
You use the word "pop" and "over pressure", does the heater core actually pop open as in blow up?
I wonder if you have some kind've blockage in the cooling system, the first thing that comes to mind is the lower radiator hose may be collapsing while driving. The lower hose has suction especially...
I have two 6.2's sitting in my driveway right now, one is bone stock the other I rebuilt(stock) with the exception of balancing the rods and pistons (rings on) I also 'ported and polished 'heads and manifolds. It is the smoothest and quietest 6.2 I've ever seen. I do have to admit tho I never...
A leaking axle seal will do the same thing, lot of people think oil on brake shoe will make em slip, WRONG! They'll lock up at the lightest touch of the pedal and then as the oil is burned off work normally (unless there really soaked)
That looks GREAT! I was wondering if there's room for a ammo can on the left side? That would be a great place to keep a snatch block, tree strap and gloves.
Using a cut out panel would be the hot ticket! To bad you can't out it all in one piece! have an overlapping seam just shy of the rear edge of the door post and then wherever you want on the roof itself, I'd even drill out the spot welds on the "donor" part and grind the welds out on the old...
I agree about pulling from the rear and going forward, but I've noticed that it seems my truck(s) have better traction in reverse. With that being said I've done both in HI and LO.
While replacing those vacuum lines make sure you pull the tranny dipstick and look at and smell the ATF. Is it at the full mark? Is pink in color or dirty brown? Does it smell burned?
If it's brown and or burned smelling then do a tranny service, it's easy and yea you can do it yourself/ TH400...
New tires mounted and installed a couple days ago, Bought a cheap set off of evilbay and thought for sure they'd be more square then round. Boy was I surprised! Brand name is WEST LAKE 265/85-16 less than $500 delivered to my door, mounted up and balanced with very little weight and handles...
For once I disagree with cucvus! I say yes, I did mine starting with a spray on bed liner, followed that with carpet and a rubber mat. That made a BIG difference, I also installed a OEM hood blanket. You wouldn't believe how much just the blanket helped. I've yet to install anything in the...
It does sound cool but putting a larger turd blower on will take longer to spool up than a smaller unit on the same engine.
I think I said that correctly.
Nice looking truck. In the 1st post with all the pics it looks like the electric fuel pump is mounted before the inline filter, the filter (or a filter) should be UPSTREAM of the pump. You could just add another in their or just move the one you have, wouldn't hurt to tie it down either. Other...
I've been lucky enough to acquire a "few" spare parts over the years and I cut the hump out of a rot box and used it as a replacement. I Figured that way if I ever have to work on it Hopefully I can do it from the top. I wish I had bucket seats in it, the shifter pushes against the seat pretty...
