    Gear oil level in axles?

With the ECO hubs having a smaller oil capacity and since there's no gears to fling it around I filled mine to the 3 o-clock position (halfway). I don't want the bearing becoming uncovered during long drives at speed since that will cause the oil to collect in a ring around the circumference of...

    Gear oil level in axles?

Fill till it flows back out the fill hole and plug it with the truck on a level surface.

New M-1083 owner. So, here we go!!

It's a good idea to replace or rebuild the compressor for sure. I can tell you that NAPA will not be able to get that compressor very quickly. It's an oddball and they will contact the supplier and they will find that it's "build to order" and you might be waiting a bit for one. You could pull...

Yes. My 1079 clocked 10.19 mpg over 118 miles with cruise control set to 55 mph.

    FMTV windshield wiper home position

Thanks for the warning. I had not intended to try that but in thinking about it given your failure that does make some sense. The motors would have far more power at 24v and the plastic teeth don't look particularly strong. So far I'm at the running wiring stage after installing the motors and...

    FMTV windshield wiper home position

It's a 10 minute fix. If that. I'm actually in my PDP right now installing some power window wiring and a 12v distribution bussbar. All you have to do is let the motor park, loosen the bolt, turn the linkage till the wipers are where you want them to park (which is where the linkage bar is...

    M1078 Alternator Problem

I wouldn't hold your breath. I know and know-of several former employees and customers of Acela that don't have really excellent things to say about the owner and management. The "product" suffers from the management's use of cheap Chinese and Amazon parts, old surplus tires, and other issues.

    FMTV windshield wiper home position

You're over thinking it. Also I've already had this problem and fixed it. The nut on the motor came loose. For the arms to get into the grill area they would have to come loose from their pivots and since both arms are now parking at 1 o-clock that hasn't happened. They are still timed relative...

    M1078 Alternator Problem

Huh? Acela builds trucks, yes. What are you getting at exactly?

Did I just buy a 2023 LMTV M1078A1 or not?

Ronmar has a good point - you may have an argument for getting a substantial refund since the truck will almost surely have issues being registered with the paperwork they are going to give you. You should also ask them to please fix the paperwork side of things - you can show them a VIN decoder...

    FMTV windshield wiper home position

The home position is set by rotating the arm on the motor. Pull the PDP panel and it's accessible. The nut has backed off and allowed the arm to slip on the tapered/splined motor drive and has thrown off your timing of the home position and wiper position.

    Eco Hubs and 3.07's - in a 2000 M1088 with a 3126 (~24k pounds)

The videos you saw were all done in 2nd gear. 1st is much slower.

    Eco Hubs and 3.07's - in a 2000 M1088 with a 3126 (~24k pounds)

His truck is a 2000 M1088 with the 330/860 3126b I believe he is tipping the scales around 24k lbs with his habitat. Test drive felt really good. Very smooth shifts and didn't lack for power that I could tell anyway. Took about 12.5 hours but that was with an hour break for lunch and to wash...

Did I just buy a 2023 LMTV M1078A1 or not?

It's a 3126b engine - trucks made after 2005 have C7 engines. It can't be newer than that. And by the VIN it's a 2003.

    M1078 Alternator Problem

Why go to all the bother of modifications to the mounting and wiring to only get 5 more amps? If your going to do it, get at least a 200 amp alternator.

    NO Power to 1078A1 LMTV

You just connect the output from the switch to the output from the disconnect relay. Do you have the old relay with all the little wires on it? Get the new one that's completely enclosed. Those had problems. Here's the PS Magazine article on this issue...

    NO Power to 1078A1 LMTV

In your hand drawn diagram there - it's not positive and negative that you are dealing with - it's +12v and +24v and the negative is the chassis for both. Looks like you are missing the +24v? Check your battery terminals and cables first.

This typo will catch your eye...

Yeah - looks appropriately configured for a 2003.

This typo will catch your eye...

Appears to be much heavier than the trailer is rated for - to haul the vehicle on top of it that is....... I believe based on some googling that this is actually a gear trailer designed to be pulled behind on the BC Customs side-by-sides. Carrying equipment, supplies, and fuel. It has no...
