Hmmwv 6.5l purchased, turns out to be a 6.2l

If you are logged in you can search the item number (i.e. 898851) and it will come up. Or with any other item open, change the 6-digit item number in the address and it will open the item, even if you are not logged in.

Edgewood Kentucky 2016 4th of July Parade

I got an answer back already. The parade for 2017 is on Tuesday July 4 at 0930, same route as before (Caywood Elementary on Turkeyfoot to Presidents' Park). The website still has the 2016 date (July 4 was a Monday, this year it's Tuesday), but the registration form is available online and can be...

2017 Greater Cincinnati Memorial Day Parade

We are in with a M998, maybe another HMMWV if we can come up with a second trailer, or perhaps the M925A1. Thanks Bill for coordinating the event. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Edgewood Kentucky 2016 4th of July Parade

There is no information on the city's website yet so I sent the coordinator an email asking for some information. Will advise... Anybody for sure in an want to coordinate it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What HMMWV Engine did I really get?

It looks like you did really well. The exhaust and transfer case look like new. You will probably find it has like new brakes, maybe axles and suspension, etc. There is not a picture of the sticker on the left valve cover, so it is hard to tell whether you got a rebuilt GM 6.5 or a GEP (AM...

    6.5L GEP Engine Valley Drain

I use air to blow them out, with rubber tubing on a blowgun, either direction works. Also, vacuum out all of the crud from the valley to keep it clear. Better yet, brush and paint to stop the rust formation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    move to north carolina

Are you familiar with the route possibilities already? I've lived in OH, KY, TN and SC and been over these roads quite a bit, including retrieving 4 HMMWVS from NC to KY last year. The most logical route is to get to I-75 in Ohio, then I-75 through KY and TN, then I-40 east. If you want to...

    taboo to talk

The Michigan letter has some statements in it that are questionable. As has been noted, state DMVs are obligated to follow the relevant statutes, although often the administrative branch has discretion to make some interpretations and fill in the details of how to actually implement the law...

Thanks ryanruck for bringing this information into the conversation. The attached list has links to certain sections of the Federal Motor vehicle safety act that are relevant to it scope and application, some additional NHTSA letters, also some state-level information that may be of interest...

    Sandblast HMMWV 1038 non CARC

My latest M-1038 has some panels peeling all the way to bare metal so I have been thinking I would blast them. I see Tractor Supply has garnet for $25 for 50 lbs, so it is not cheap. Do you sweep it up and get a couple of uses out of it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Issues with SF-97

ruSSrt, what you describe happened to me. I had an extra digit in my phone number. GP identified the error and sent me an email, and I made the correction right away. It did not slow the process down; GP submitted the corrected EUC right away to TSC and then that wait period began.

    Issues with SF-97

Fastest one yet: Bought M1038 on 11/15, EUC filled 11/17, EUC sent 11/19, EUC approved 11/29.

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

I decided to spiff up the M998 before cold weather really sets in. This is done with Behr Premium Marquee in Desert Tan, with Rustoleum low-gloss oil-based implement paint on the underside and brush guard.

Bit the bullet and bought a new box and sensor for the glow plugs system.

The numbers below the part number are lot/date codes, per the manufacturer's datasheet. You can have one of these in your mailbox in a couple of days for less that $10, so it seems worth a try. Hopefully nothing else got overheated. There could be some conductivity to the deposits (i.e...

A generator issue, 60 amp aluminum strap and black thick wire

It would be good to locate the wiring diagram in the TM as it shows the alternator connections; it is in TM 9-2320-280-20-3 on page 1159 of the pdf. You should find the alternator wires in the vicinity of the left valve cover. They were previously used on the voltage regulator of the Niehoff...
