Thanks liftman, I improvised and made a "spring compressor" from a piece of angle iron (the rocker arm "pin" comes from a damaged cylinder). This works for me since I only needed access to the head bolt. I couldn't find a reasonably priced ring compressor, so the larger (longer) one I already...

That relay will do just fine (a starter relay too with the proper rating, for that matter). Add a diode as shown in the attached images to "kill" the inductive kick and protect the switch/circuitry energizing it.

Never air down when using chains, the tires may get damaged. To install the six 1100-20 tire chains on the deuce takes me from 20 to 30 minutes.
