MuleMac01, your engine & Transmission looks like new. I like Reo engines, and the company made quite a few different engines over the years. Most people don't know, that from 1954 to 1975 Reo made their own 440ci V8 truck motor. It's not a take off of the Chrysler 440, as the Reo engine came out...
Just in case you change your mind. Here are a couple of pics of an MKT-99 (Mobile Kitchen Trailer). I'm sure a smoker will fit in there.......somewhere. They also pull good behind a Deuce.
47to70, I'm sure you'll find that some of the membership here might have some good running takeout engines. It'll save you some money over a complete rebuild, and you'll have a solid good running engine.
47to70 glad to see your keeping a sense of humor. Usually when I see piston ring and skirt pieces in the oil pan, not only is the piston damaged but the sleeve as well. Also if your going to drop the pan, jack up the frame a bit so the oil pan will clear the front axle diff. when you remove it.
Up here in the High Desert it's spiders, especially Black widows. They love hiding in my spare tire pile, and in the tail gate chain covers on the Deuce and M105A2. A little Brakleen though, and their gone.
A couple of pictures of Jeeps new J-12 prototype. Probably doesn't have much in common with an M-715/Gladiator under the skin, but on the outside she sure looks like one.
Jeff, as you get more running time on the engine is it smoking less? Sometimes when an engine sits a long time, they will smoke until the rings and cylinder walls get re acquainted.
Some of the guys use camo netting between vehicles, mostly to block the sun. This time of year the weather in Central California is pretty mild, and the weather during the meet this year was excellent. But there have been a few times when we've gotten a little bad weather.
Alan, glad you had a good time at Gridley, I sure would like to make it there next year. Today I'm loading the trailer with all my collectibles (junk), and hope to be on the road heading for Tower Park before sunrise Monday morning. It's about a 300 mile trip, so I hope to be in Reno early...
Aussie Bloke, try (TNJ Murray) for data plates, they have hundreds. It will make things easier if you have the Part # of the data plates your looking for, try the TMs. Enter the Part # into their Inventory Search, and if they have it, it'll pop up. Good Luck!
