Has anybody put thier M1078 on a scale?

I dropped the spare on ours to get to the electrical box underneath. I was going to unhook it and roll it out of the way. I changed my mind when I had it on the ground "looked like a thousand pounds to me!"

    Squealing Belt Question

Try to tighten them up a touch more. Your pulleys could be a touch worn/wider. Or your new belts need to be wider.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Were you running them at 65lbs like it showed on stencil on the side of your truck? That could be part of the problem with running them that stiff. I run my Goodyears at 45lbs, rides smoother, less jarring when pothole hunting and they don't seem to build up any heat.

    Easter find M1008 2015

I wanted to use my NOS set or delineators and mount them on Easter Find to match my 1009 and my 101-A2 but they won't work. The tailgate on the trucks are designed differently from the Blazers and has a deep angle recess on the ends. So I got a little creative "after a few beers" and come up...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

New set of shoes. My 16 year old set of Goodyear Wrangler tires that came with my 1009 got a little dangerous to run. The side walls were dry cracked real bad. Installed a set of Hankook Dynapro MT RT03s stock size 31"x10.5"x15". $149.00 each mounted & balanced. Not to aggressive and should...

    TH400 Uphill Problems, Severe Bogging/Lugging

Rick, you missed your calling, you should have been a "Bed Time Story Teller". Or are you practicing for your new gig, "Grand Kid Sitting"?

    Easter find M1008 2015

Easter Find started her service there in New Mexico, so I thought It was only fitting to have her wear her original unit ID. And Rick your right, no fire wood or logging. Maybe a nice load of milled lumber once in a while.

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

Kubota orange on a Land Pride mower? Is that allowed? Will Kubota sue for patent infringements? Patent infringement is the commission of a prohibited act with respect to a patented invention without permission from the patent holder

    Easter find M1008 2015

I noticed Easter find seemed a little lonely and disappointed she wasn't in the parade so I brought her a new friend to spend some quality time together. She is so happy now that she decided to start her own parade Rick, I hope this takes some loneliness away makes you feel a tad bit happier.

    Easter find M1008 2015

Didn't make the parade this year. The WWII vet I give a ride to was unfortunately placed in a nursing home and unable to participate. As far as upgrades, all I have done so far is some stenciling. Easter Find is so close to original stock I'm debating adding anything. "Just thinking" I have a...

    M1008 help

Your going to guess whats wrong from afar and bring some parts? How big is your suitcase?

    Easter find M1008 2015

It don't ride like a new 1500 Silverado but I think it rides great. I just had to fine tune the tire air psi down to 45 lbs and it smoothed out our upstate secondary country roads. You get on the primary roads at any speed you don't notice any ride issues. I even think it rides better than my...

    LMTV 1071 Vs MTV 1088

Keep in-mind the load ratings; The 1078=2-1/2 ton but the 1083s= 5 ton and requires a cdl to drive.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Now the new Chevys are 1 key for all. And the Leer Cap I had installed with side tool boxes keys itself to your truck key. A true 1 key fits all.
