Mike, I'd guess they would work but gas is cheaper and you wouldn't have to leave the gas in the tank to get stale. If memory serves, emptying the tank is called for before storing the tank away anyhow.
If you read the TM and resist the urge to look down at the splash plate to see if it's...
During the next week or so I'll get by the local truck stop and heavy truck shop. If I find a source for either gasket material of the gaskets, I'll post 'em.

M35A2 turbo upper exhaust gasket PN?
Does anyone have a good civy PN for the upper turbo exhaust pipe gaskets?
Thanks
Lance
EDIT Thanks for the replies. I should have been more clear. I'm looking for the upper gasket, above the "J" pipe.
Like others, I have a sound level meter that only records absolute sound pressure readings. However, my understanding is that hearing loss is more directly related to the pressure within specific frequency bands. The total amount of pressure can still be "OK" but your hearing could be being...
All M1009s are rated, by the Army, as 3/4 ton trucks. Someone with more knowledge of civilian Chevys than I've got would have to comment on the VIN question. Perhaps the suspension and axles are lighter than the civilian 3/4 ton ones?
OLDCEHV4X4 would be a good place to start for that info...
My edition of the -10 shows that the M1008 is rated to tow the M101 trailer at 3,000 pounds. I'm sure the pintle and it's mounts will tow much more and that the limitation is due to the M101 having no brakes. The M101s with the upgraded suspension and surge brakes will go over 3K at max load...
Try this thread. There have been others this week.

You'll likely get a better response with a thread title that is explanatory without having to open it. Maybe "Deuce transport needed, Meade to PA"
Good luck and enjoy the truck...
The original post posed the possibility of towing without interconnecting the brakes. That's where the discussion progressed from.
I don't remember what the speed limit is for towing that load with out interconnecting the brakes but it should be in the M809 truck -10 and it was low, maybe 15...
Gee, Mike, my list gets longer the longer you wait to go.
I'm looking for the angled brace that goes on the left end of the passenger side bench seat when a deuce has a spring seat. It's the one added when the old box driver seat is removed since the left end of the passenger seat was...
The "M1961E1" is a typo of M1061E1.
Because of the deck height, any ramps would kiely need to be pretty long to get a low enough angle for the truck you want to load to not hang up.
