I have never posted in the classifieds, I'm not here to sell stuff, so maybe never will.
I paid the premium to support the site. As much as I get out of this place in information and cameraderie, it is more than worth it to me. I know this site costs money to run, I'm more than willing to...
He told his commander that in actuality he was faced with only two options, the sniper hitting him or the window. He managed to articulate how his quick thinking actually saved the government money, since replacing the glass was cheaper than replacing him!
One of the reasons he got the...
Well, today was a good day. I was on Camp Pendleton to welcome my boy home safe from Afghanistan. I can breath easy for the first time in 10 months.
Guess who got the Battalion Commanders Award for Excellence for his unit? :)
Cheers
Pic 1- my daughter, son's girlfriend, #1 son, #2 son.
Thanks Louie.
Yes on ramps. I am looking into having some made by a local company (I always try to do business with someone local first), otherwise I will go with some commercial ramps I found on the net. Aluminium, so easy to handle, something like 60# per section.
I am also cutting a...
Sorry for the scare MC. I am indeed thankful for what I do have.
And good news, Davey sent a message, they are leaving that country a bit earlier than expected, looks like I will be headed to California in the near future for his Homecoming. I will be able to relax for the first time since...
It still looks better behind your truck than my M1009!
Thanks for the rescue. (Sam came out one recent night and towed me to safety when the 1009 blew its transmission return line a couple of miles from his shop).
By the way, I was already hungry when I saw the taco place and...
I continue to be impressed by, and a little jealous of, your ability to make things, and have them look so precise!
I suppose that's a facet of my enjoyment of the hobby, I love finely machined things. I really enjoyed seeing your work up close when I visited you.
Cheers
I'm not sure of the setback of the kingpin on the M146, but it looks similar to the M128 (comparing Sarge's trailer to mine with no tape measure available), so....
On my M931A2 (14.00 tires) I flip the M128 landing pads back vertically on the landing gear and strap them upright, they clear...
Are you talking about the MERDC/4-colour sceme? If so, the patterns remain the same, the colours change according to the environment to be operated in. Look at TB 43-0147 (in the Resources section, buried in Deuce manuals for some reason) for details.
There is no pattern specifically for the...
I had to send a message to my boy through the Red Cross to let him know his grandpa died last week.
I have nothing but good things to say about their messaging system (and particularly Nancy in San Diego, who helped me). They delivered the message to the Marines within an hour, and my boy was...
To add to Maddawg's comment- having a truck that was factory built as a tractor, as opposed to a home-conversion (no matter how will done) removes one argument the money-grubbers can use against you.
Cheers
Yes indeed!
I added a picture of the guard in place. I haven't painted it to match the vehicle yet, might not since they seem to be left that way quite a bit.
Cheers
I agree with the above comments. With the number of M931/932 tractors available now at reasonable prices, one of those would be a better fit for the job. That is what I have to haul the V100 around. They are still MV slow, not long-haul vehicles.
If you like the older style, there are still...
