    Stupid Question about Highway Gears??

Well I've only been into LMTVs for 5 years now, but with regards to 3:14 regearing: How many years have I been told "there are no more", "they were only in the early Caimans", "there simply are none", "you can't get them anywhere", "it's just what they sell for", etc, etc. How about *every*...

    Stupid Question about Highway Gears??

Actually, I do get it. Here's a load Bryce picked up just a couple months ago. *and I'm not knocking Bryce, btw. He does full installs for what others just flip the gears sets for. He's not (just) a flipper. He provides a service (installation). And you will note that anytime someone asks...

Missing bed…. Remind me of the mud flap locations

OK, figures. The 5-ton is the one I can't go measure (for lack of truck).

    Stuck A1R Pintle hitch?

Yep. Mine is the exact same way. And then suddenly it fits fine. It just takes convincing the pintle and the reciever to line up while you tap on the pin. When it just falls out you'll go WTF?

    Stupid Question about Highway Gears??

If you "make" a widget then I fully agree. If you're buying up all the government scrap widgets for a penny, are in cahoots with others who do the same to fix the price at $100, sit on stock for years to create false rarity, etc...well, I call that a lot of things (but capitalism isn't on the...

    Ramdough Cab Modifications Build Thread

Yeah, it was a change that came with the A1 best I can find. The A1R's got the new grab bar (not sure why other than it may have pinched an LT's finger or BAE saved money on the shorter bar). LOL.

    Stuck A1R Pintle hitch?

fyi: If you pull an M1082 trailer either don't turn or add some links (about 8-10") to the safety chain. Else it will do bad things with the pintle extended...

Missing bed…. Remind me of the mud flap locations

What exactly do you need? Front of rear tire? Aft of rear tire? Distance from center of wheel? LMTV or 5-ton? *I don't know that I've even seen your truck yet.

    Stuck A1R Pintle hitch?

Wiggle the hitch with a sledge and try up/down. I've had it drop out and I've had to do battle with it.

    Behr or Rustoleum for dash?

I'm covering mine with prism tape. Going for the 70's retro look !! LOL
  12. Third From Texas

    Stuck A1R Pintle hitch?

You just need to work things around. They are a VERY tight fit some times (both taking the pin out and replacing it). Other times it will slide right out. DO NOT MODIFIY/grind !!!! You will be hard pressed to find any replacement parts and you will be fucked if you alter it....

    A0 vs A1 Air/Hydraulic Pump

Colt has a video up of rebuilding the A0. Might compare that to what you saw while doing your A1.

    Ramdough Cab Modifications Build Thread

Well, it's not "correct". The original grab bar needs to be replaced with the newer version. But crossing over the old-style grab bar shouldn't really be an issue.

    Stupid Question about Highway Gears??

Yes, but a "reasonable markup". I don't expect vendors to not make a profit and I'm well aware of overhead. But there are many who go way beyond reasonable. I Again, I'm not talking about doing any work or providing any service. Just scalping surplus at insane prices.

    A0 vs A1 Air/Hydraulic Pump

Yeah, I pulled the wrong image. That was the latch rebuild kit. Sorry Yep, you have the right kit (only one that's I've ever seen).

I bet I could make the brackets and the inboard backing plate with a trip to Lowes and a hand grinder. Yeah, it's been "tropical". You got out before it got really bad. Rained all week with the worst being the past two nights/mornings. My garage has about an inch of water in it and I can...

    Stupid Question about Highway Gears??

Well, yes. But when you buy a $50 chunk of scrap and flip it for $5000 there are a few other words that can apply, IMO. Scalping, price fixing, price gouging, ripping off, wallet raping, profiteering, taking advantage of, etc. I get capitalism being king and all, but 1000% markup is a bit "in...

Is this the kit that you used?
