  1. Third From Texas

    What is it?

Actually, there is. Sorta. It may only be the later trucks, though (I don't recall my A0 having the feature). But on an incline, the truck will not roll unless it is in F or R. It's a transmission thing (maybe limited to the later 3070? I've no idea at what degree incline it kicks in, but...

Also check with Scott DeWitt. https://advancedautomotion.com/shop/product_info.php/cPath/275_289/products_id/816/osCsid/ctu8p92nijtpd8ubq24721s570

    What is it?

Might check with @Awesomeness here. He does the swaybar bushings and had talked about doing the cab. You can find NOS surplus, but keep in mind that rubber ages whether it's in use or on a shelf. And the flippers selling those old NOS rubber bits want like $500 per bushing. A few people...

    Ramdough Cab Modifications Build Thread

On the coast you have to hang onto those doors. The winds are always nuking down here. Some form of arresting the doors is a must...

    Ramdough Cab Modifications Build Thread

Sure there is.... 20 mins in a fab shop and....brackets. Straps, any commercial sewing/canvas/sail shop. The only part that takes some pondering is hand grab replacement. You can go fancy and try to copy OEM or just ass a handle/strap. Honestly, if you incorporated a plate like the OEM does...

    NATO Plugs (Alternatives)

Yep. The good old "12v vampiric drain". Hit's my M1079 especially hard (I suspect the rear relays combined with the trans and engine ECU are the fault). And it strikes these trucks with dual battery mod as well (just pulls down the one 12v side). I've been running with dual batteries...

    My $15,000 Beer Cooler

Got my hinges, gas struts, as well as the lid tie downs mounted. Next to insulate it. I may also slip a little 12v LED in there for when the fridge is open... LOL

    NATO Plugs (Alternatives)

I have Anderson plugs. On a lot of the gear (my crane, the removable battery box in my trailer, etc) . I'm poised to delete the NATO port, honestly. I just thought I toss it out there one last time before I do. The NATO port brings nothing to the table for me and my build, personally. But...

    What is it?

You can eyeball the upper and lower cab bushings by peeking around the bumper and the wheel well. Sway bar bushings are easy to spot from behind the truck. When the weather passes, that is....
  10. Third From Texas

    What is it?

1% grade won't lock the trans in park (but on my driveway it kicks in). Has to be in gear and park brake released (else it in a no go). I don't recall if my A0 had that same feature but my A1R does. Yeah, all three trucks that I've owned had brakes that will strick a bit if wet and allowed to...

    What is it?

That was my thought, but then he said it appeared to have a 12 inch radius
  12. Third From Texas

    What is it?

Was the truck parked on an incline? Could the brakes have gotten wet prior to sitting?

    NATO Plugs (Alternatives)

Ran across this just now. I wonder who else makes them. Tesla plugs will be stupid expensive (but still less than surplus I bet). LOL http://www.teslaind.com/products-connectors.php

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

True. Perhaps someone else will tackle the Axletech proof of concept. Like the old 3.07's used to be, they can be had for a dime-a-dozen and by the truckload.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Yep. Dunno why he didn't pursue the Axletech project other than he he's still dragging home truckloads of 3:07s. It would even resolve the driveline vibrations the Meritor suffers due to the harsh angle aft.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Just switch to an Axletech driveline. Then the MRAP wheels will fit. *and you'd have highspeed gears, air lockers, and disc brakes. ;p

M1088 with 4 (Four) leads into the battery box

And the cable terminal clamps also have two sizes. Ground is the smaller. So the longer cable with the smaller clamp should be the ground.
