Estonia, a country in Northern Europe, borders the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Finland. Including more than 1,500 islands, its diverse terrain spans rocky beaches, old-growth forest and many lakes...
The topic always comes up. I have been using the stock A C Delco 13G glow plugs in my CUCV's for over 26 years. Never anything but these. I lie I did try some Wellman's. Bad Deal. But I just bought these from the GM dealer. Made in Germany. I have the resistors hooked up and all stock circuit...
Tonight was a busy night. Busier then usual. I wanted to complete my M1009 gate glass tracks. I put urethane adhesive in the channels. I press some TrimLok material into the tracks. It is 1/4". It fits in perfect. I clamped it a while and sent it to final paint. After an hour or so I set...
Even that Standard part is expensive. But expense is just one time and done. keep screwing with it and it will cost you more. Good Luck. My parts supplier quoted me $100. for the part. Not in Stock. I seen them available at several palaces. None were a $30. part. Good Luck.
At ne time I had a dozen new ones and gave them out not knowing they were expensive. I have a few used ones and will hang onto them for now. But they did have an inexpensive one I listed in the past. It was a Standard brand name I believe. I will look.
Make sure to remove the fuel pump push rod cover plate (10mm hex / M6 bolts x 2) and change that gasket as well.
Fel-Pro 5182 - Fel-Pro Fuel Pump Gaskets
Fel-Pro 6579 - Fel-Pro Fuel Pump Gaskets
After you have that cover plate removed the push rod will slide out. Put some grease on that rod...
The grease fittings/zerks on a CUCV are standard thread. NOT Metric. I hope that helps. They are available just about anywhere that sell farming and automotive parts. Even hardware stores have a nice selection. Good Luck. Looks Great.
This is NOT the same as the passengers side rear of the head.
This is the correct switch for the passengers side rear of the head. This controls the fast idle/advance solenoid at cold start...

I would throw the Scotch blocks in the trash. Thats just me. We outlawed them 25 years ago at our assembly plant. They are for temporary use only IMHO. Good Luck.
The rear is back together and the transmission is shifting fine. All is well. Now just turn the heat down a few notches and lets get crazy. Much work needs completed.
Just cut the bolt and slide it in from the outside. There is no difference. It is a pin that the shackle pivots on. Sawzall. Go wild. Drill the bushings out, burn them out, cut them out. Just don't beat them out you will go nuts and be very unsafe. Good Luck. The bolts are 7/16". They have a...
Once again. I have. If I were to charge a customer to remove his springs to replace the bushings I would be at the price of replacement springs. Heat is all you need. They actually shoot the metal sleeve out the eye hole when they are warm. Now not blazing red hot. But that little bit of heat...
Sorry to rebut but I would NOT remove the springs. Remove the bolts and lower them up front. Easy and less added unneeded expense and time. The U bolts are fine and don't need replaced. Also the sway bar will fight you so you would be working backwards. The shackle bushings in the rear of the...
I would get it back on. I know a guy in PA that has some. Let me know what you need. I am cleaning up everything I have and things are flying out the door. Some parts leave on a trailer and others in boxes. But they are all leaving. Trailer trips are recycling trips. New Chevys are being made...
M1009 Axle Spline / Pinion Spline Counts? | SteelSoldiers
I messed up and posted my project on another thread while I was looking for information on 30 count axle splines. CUCV's have 28 in the M1009. Now I have a customer that has 30 spline rear axles. It was an update in 1989 and I had...
I am reviving this thread because I was just outside and had the locker out of the M1009 a customer dropped off here a few months back. You will find this hard to imagine but I never knew the spline count on an M1009 rear axle. I never really cared. If it was broken I fixed it or changed the...
I used the sawzall and cut the inner steel bushing. I also used a cutting torch a few times. that makes a huge mess but it works and I always paint everything I have apart. Looks' good.
The Generator lights are supposed to stay on till you rev the engine a little. And as far as the rattle goes the skid plate is probably bent and making contact with the frame. Take it off carefully and straighten the little L brackets at the frame. Reassemble it with new bolts flat washers and...
OK. Do yourself a huge favor. If you have an air compressor. Go to Harbor Freight and buy a paint gun. $20. Now get some water base paint in the OD green. Sand the door lightly and paint it with the pray gun. It covers great and cleans up with water. It lasts a long time and it is simple to...
