I totally agree. I actually did what they requested. Kinda sucky how it ended up. Hindsight is 20/20. Their quality of welding, balancing, and attention to small details was superb. The fact that the sizing is wrong is probably my fault. I just asked for the numbers here to try and be sure.
What, nobody brought a HMMWV? Still looks like fun. The nice lady I enjoy seeing wanted me to spend the day with her since I was going to be out for the rest of the weekend, so it looks like I'll be coming up in the morning instead of...well, yesterday. I've got a couple of Growlers (with...
I'm reinforcing my thought that it's your TSU, or possibly the wiring harness to the TSU. I had been doing some work on my HMMWV and had the connector to the TSU disconnected. For giggles, I put the start lever to run with it like that and sure enough, I had a flashing wait light that lasted...
My rule is if it's suspension, heavy, or supports a safety system, I use Grade 8. If it's just body panels or accessories, I use 5. If the specs are available, I yield to the spec.
Can we get a picture of the box you just installed? Perhaps of the temperature sender as well? A topic in G503 with a similar issue seemed to be because the the "TSU" for the S3 didn't match therefor it flashed, never warmed the glow plugs, and the engine was unable to start.
It's going to be a standard laptop hard drive that's in a specialized tray... Either IDE or SATA. Take a picture of the connectors on the drive and the label on the drive and I can give you an immediate answer!
I did, actually. It was 28V with moderate sun, open circuit. It's probably 32-36V under full sun, open circuit. (voltage will display lower when a battery load is attached)
Are they really directional? I know you can orient that large external plate to face either side, so the offset mount can be driver side or curbside, but I didn't think that inner supporting plate was going to be unique to be LH/RH. Do you have any pictures of them to showcase how they're...
Definitely wish I had one of those. I had access to one in my high school introductory engineering classes, but all of its parts it produced were too brittle to consider using for anything other than a visual model or test-fitting a component for size only. As for the cap I bought, it went on...
For the record, I used an electric impact wrench to spin on my lock nut because I got impatient. If you have patience a tools, a padded vice clamped onto the pulley is the proper way. If you have patience and not the right tools, you can try put a couple of sturdy tools through the fan guard...
Who's the refurbisher? As well, are you cranking, but just not getting the engine to catch? If you are cranking and not catching, can you smell diesel fuel at the exhaust immediately after cranking?
All, this was a question I had asked a while back and a member was kind enough to provide me his instructions he had floating around, but they were limited and suffered from the reprint-of-a-reprint syndrome. While browing some TMs for equipment I probably will never own (GRC-240), I just...
I did not install one. Another member had mentioned having one installed and expressed good results. I'm sorry, but I don't recall what thread that discussion was in. Instead, I have my 200A dual-voltage alternator with +14V lead installed to provide a balancing charge to the rear battery...
Sounds interesting. I've shot you a PM. I'd love to see what you have, just not sure if I can actually pull the trigger on the sale until I hear what you want for them.
I've confirmed that when I'm coming down on Friday, I'm going on my "wants to be an M1030" with my camping gear on the back. The HMMWV is still in struggle mode with the drive shafts I have and I'm still busy with small parts on the injection pump and wiring at-large.
It is a power-distribution fuse box. It includes self-resetting (12V) and manually-resettable (24V) circuit breakers that you can shuffle around, depending on your application. It's a very simple system that just have a positive lead that goes to the series of batteries (24V) and a positive...
Coolant? Are you sure about that? Extra crankcase pressure is supposed to flow from the oil fill tube up into the air intake. Generally you're going to get oil and maybe a small about of fuel circulating back in, which then would hopefully burn up on the next combustion cycle on the air...
