Purchased a set of brake shoes that were mfg. by "new star" and I found a .020 gap under the toe of the lining on both shoes, and the gap ran back to the first set of rivets. Not a quality product.
Getting ready to re torque my heads next week. I was able to find a Snap-on M 4276A wrench to torque the nuts under the injectors. I have about 7000 mi. on my engine since rebuild, so I'm interested so see how much movement I get when I re torque.
I agree. I had a a tapping noise in my truck at idle that drove me nuts for weeks. I checked everything under the hood, and finally found that the copper line going from the air compressor to the governor was rattling against the firewall at idle. I secured it with a clamp and no more rattle. So...
I'm 62 and it sounds like your in better shape than I am. I've owned my deuce for 9 years and still love driving her to some of the west coast shows. The old saying if it feels good do it still applies, and don't let your age stop you it's just a number.
