Thought it was time for some more pictures, because we all like pictures.
Shiny new TruckLite LED headlights (heated), the grill guard and shackles being back where they belong and a shot of the back of the HMMWV and its bajillion drilled holes for antennas everywhere. Anyone know if they...
Not yet. Those photos are coming tonight if I survive my cold I have right now. Good confirmation on what I believed those brackets to be.
Mine came with a disconnected, broken, 60A alternator just resting on the bracket. Since it wasn't connected, it's entirely possible that they pulled it...
I'll double check for that. Any idea of how many or how large? Speaking of that bulkhead, I forgot to mention that mine came with the extended fence on it. I don't know exactly why that would be needed unless as a large cargo barrier, but I thought it was neat that it had it.
Shark Bait...
In case anyone wants to take a crack at my HMMWV, here goes! I picked this 1994 M998A1 off of GP. Their original stated location was Crane NSWC, but ultimately it was located on the SW side of Indianapolis on a private holding yard. Inside, I found paperwork indicating that it was in custody...
...I think you've got to work on this digging up very old threads thing. If you need to message people, I'd highly suggest clicking their name as it appears on the left of their posts, then select either "Send email" or "Private Message" to write to them directly. You're going to get much...
This'un. Good luck finding one. I've seen the rack itself, but I've never seen the brackets (except for the front, lower brackets that came on my HMMWV). Haven't asked around here for the parts, though. If you want to see it in the TM, search for "Camouflage Storage Rack" ...it's part of...
I like the idea of having a lock as a deterrent, even if it's easily defeated. At this point, I honestly prefer the soft doors since I can pop them off in about 20 seconds, but I would have to find some crazy way to make them lockable to make comfortable use of them regularly. Either way...
I do agree...that looks pretty sharp. Looks like you can find it and similar ones on Adv 4x4: http://store.adv4x4.com/lighting1.html
My HMMWV has the two front brackets used for the camouflage storage rack on it...those leave a couple of good bolt points to either mount separate light on, or I...
I thought I'd chime in with some more hard info for this, because I stumbled across one that was brand new, less than $10 delivered... It's the mount for a Savi Tech ST-654 series EchoPoint RFID Cargo Tracking Tag. It uses a 3.6V Lithium 17500 battery. It has a 100m line-of-sight range with...
Very true; however, I was just curious since it might some time be necessary to replace this expediently and it'd be nice to know how long I have on the clock before I have to go back and replace it properly.
I had that and got a very abrupt sort of "IT'S NOT CLEARED YET. WE'LL TELL YOU WHEN IT'S CLEAR." when I called about it....and then was approved the next day. Moral of the story: yeah, you're probably clear, but it doesn't mean GovPlanet knows it yet.
Dual exhaust? Is that a Hummer H1 thing? The exhausts are made different depending on if you have a TD or NA engine, but they all follow the same path to my knowledge: off the headers to merge into one pipe, through the muffler assembly, then exiting out the side pipe-just in front of the...
There was a guy on here that used to look up serial numbers in an Army database to show where the vehicle's last unit was, but he doesn't do that anymore. They even made a sticky about it in the forum where he used to offer that. Otherwise, it's all up to you to look over the vehicle for any...
Jwade, thanks for the help on getting me going on my first MV. You've been excellent to everyone on here and have been one our greatest assets. Good luck in the new role!
I haven't seen a written-out guide, but TM 9-2320-280-24P shows a detailed, exploded drawing of the starter and all of its parts. That would probably go a very long way to help you.
