Deuce air cleaner modifiacation W/LDS engine

Yeah, thanks for the info about the LDS-2. What was different about those, as compared to the LDS-1? That cyclone-type air filter is very similar to the Sy-Klone pre-filter that I'm going to mount on top of my snorkel. Not going to increase airflow, but should help keep the air filter a lot...

    Torque Rod Lengthening

If you're only planning on using one link, the geometry is very important. If it's not spot-on, it will bind. It's probably not going to be as much of a problem as it can be on rock crawlers and desert race trucks, but that's just because of the limited wheel-travel you're dealing with. There...

    Torque Rod Lengthening

Those links ARE forged, right? Personally, I'd use tubing (instead of pipe) and I'd want to knock the corners off the links so I could get a tighter fit. I'd do like rosco suggested, and plug-weld them in a few places. I'd also cut the tube that will slide over the links on an angle, or a...

one pallet from FL to CA

I was told that the freight class for this would be 85. Is that right?

fuel tank and transfer case vent crimped in engine compartment. Why?

Wasn't there an update that was supposed to be performed, which was to separate the fuel vent line from the rest of the vent lines? I remember seeing a post about it a while ago, while I was researching fording kits.

one pallet from FL to CA

Final destination is 95037, but I'd be willing to travel a ways up/down the coast to pick it up.

one pallet from FL to CA

Anybody making the long haul out west? If not, what freight companies should I contact to get rate quotes? Tried searching, but didn't turn up anything. This is just a winch on a pallet that I want to ship.

    replacing transfer-case seals

Can any of you guys help me clear this up? Getting these flanges and driveshafts reinstalled is the last thing I need to do in order to get Mah Deuce back on the road.

Nice job. If anybody else wants to build a dump and needs a transfercase PTO, I've got one for sale.

Was that a trailer bed? What kind of trailer was that? Do you know what it was called?

    replacing transfer-case seals

Been busy working on other projects, but this afternoon I finally got around to removing the three input/output flanges from my old sprag transfercase - hoping to figure out what I might have done wrong. NO SHIMS under any of those flanges. Only those big washers under the nuts. So what gives? I...

You're absolutely right, but the truck that the OP is going to mount them on is a 4x4.

flipping the center-sections in riveted wheels

Thanks. If I was going to do it over again, I'd think twice about grinding out the welds. It was a LOT (a lot a lot a lot) of work. Would probably just try to lay down a nice looking bead and call 'em done. These look pretty sweet now that they're all done, but I hate grinding. No way man...

flipping the center-sections in riveted wheels

Thanks for all the help with this project guys. I'm really happy with how my wheels turned out. I need a total of nine wheels/tires so I'll have matching wheels for my trailer, plus a spare, and I only have eight right now. But I'm not in any hurry. I'll just pick up another riveted wheel...

flipping the center-sections in riveted wheels

Loaded them all back up and was so excited that I installed them all that night. Well, all except for one of them. Stripped a stud, and had to go buy a new one the next morning. I don't have many good pictures of the whole truck because it's parked in kind of a tight spot right now. I'll post...
