5 ton with Mack engine I have to agree with everyone else on this one,The Mack engine is far better than the NHC-250 Cummins or the LDS 465 in my humble opinion,having had all three in 5 tons I would take the Mack 2 to 1 over the others

My deuce has a LDT-465-1C multifuel in which I replaced the rear head (blew the injector out of the head!)and both head gaskets with the new design gaskets and it still blew the front head gasket right behind the fan.No water leaks,No oil leaks,just compression.

Help!!!,I need the fan drive pulley assmy that bolts to the right side of the engine compartment just ahead of the transmission.I also need the dog clutch for the hyd pump drive that runs off the engine crankshaft(powers the crane and the rear winch.)Any help finding these parts would be great!

5 tons with Mack engine I have a 1973 Kaiser/Jeep M52A1 with the Mack engine that I've been trying to sell for quite a while,so far no takers.The cab and doors are rusty but the engine,driveline and the fire wall foward is sound,Anyone interested?

5 ton bog My M816 bogs down a little in 4th but is a real stump puller in third or below,I believe the 5 speed has a massive ratio jump between third and fourth.Also you may want to check the rubber suction lines to make sure they're not cracked and sucking air.
