Eh, I'm not wild about that (mostly because of the weight on the front tires). I've heard that winches affect tire-life by a noticeable amount, so I'd like to avoid adding any more weight up there if I can help it.

What do you think about the way these look? The first picture is of the sprag-case that I just pulled out of Mah Deuce, and the second picture is of the airshift-case that I'm planning on putting into Mah Deuce.

It's my understanding that the camshaft and injection pumps are different, which, along with the oil-cooled pistons, is what helps the LDS put out a little more power. I understand that I could turn-up my LDT to make similar power, but I like that the LDS was tuned for that power, so I'm hoping...

So you're saying this LDS might not have oil-cooled pistons, or an LDS cam, or 5-ton injectors & injector pump?

That was the plan Ken. I was looking for a spare engine to keep in a crate as a sort of insurance policy. But when I found this fresh LDS, I started thinking that I'd rather swap that engine into Mah Deuce and put my LDT in the crate.

I just removed the seal retainers on my new air-shift transfer-case, and now I'm thinking that I might as well take a look inside to see what kind of shape it's in. Can you please tell me what I should be looking for (condition of parts) and what parts (seals, shims, etc.) I should have on-hand...

Well, that's what I get for not reading the TM before ripping into this. I just figured out that the front output seal is the only one that can be removed/replaced without first removing the seal retainer. So I ended up having to take off the rear output real retainer and could have easily...
