Not sure yet. I might need to go hook-up with MilitaryRestoration in Yakima sometime, and then I need to be in Renton on the 7th. Otherwise, I'm pretty flexible.
OK, thanks. The springer bases are strong enough to mount seatbelts to though? I've got some really nice Schroth 4-point harnesses that I'm planning on putting in Mah Deuce, so I was planning on making custom mounting points, but I didn't know if the springer bases were strong enough and I don't...
This has got me thinking about using a springer base and a high-quality mountain-bike shock, in combination with a nice bucket seat. Hmmm, anybody on the west coast got an extra springer seat base or two?
I didn't think I'd be able to make it because I'm down in CA right now, but it looks like I'll be headed up that way next weekend anyway. So now I'm thinking that I'll leave a day early and stop off at the rally.

Yup, exactly. The LDS makes a bit more power than the LDT (130hp vs. 205hp) and I want to have a spare engine sitting in a can, as sort of an insurance policy. So the LDS will be in Mah Deuce and the LDT will be safe in the can, in case I ever need it.
Thanks for the tip about pre-oiling.
So you've done it, but wouldn't recommend it? Mind me asking why? It's just that, from what I understand, the wastegate turbo is the best of the bunch. I've got a brand new D-series turbo that I had Ken port for me, just kinda wanted to keep my options open...
Thanks for posting that pic. I see what you mean. Everything I've read suggests that it's about a 3,000lbs package, but you know what they say about believing everything you read on the internet...
