I've thought about adding a bypass filter to a few things. The Frantz seems solid in it's concept, but I'm sure it's a mess to service. The centrifuge seems to be the best idea?
I've taken mine to that speed before, but not on purpose. Interstate speeds and the constant drone tends to make me slowly speed up until I realize I'm "breaking the sound barrier" in it and let off. My speedo still works. (Knocks on wood though, because the next time I accidentally get up to...
PCtrans 915 is a sweet truck, but it doesn't have a dump on the bed. I'd suggest a 925 or 817. I've grown to love the 929 series "creature comforts". But the 817 would be a workhorse. I've had a M51A2. Never even loaded it down, but it was a dog unloaded....
Yup, that's exactly where I'd start next. We had the reverse issue with twright's deuce at the GA rally last year. The lever got stuck in the cut off position.
I put a dab of antiseize on them as well. But the ratio of dissimilar metals plays a role in it. A SS fastener in aluminum is less likely to have issues than a aluminum fastener in SS. Since there's ports to get a straw on the inside, I will spray the inside as well to prevent issues.

Some more updates. Got the turret support mounted in. I'm using the folding windshield so it has no provision for the turret. So I used 5/16 rivet nuts. Man, what a pain without the tool. At least with the stainless steel hardware I used. I'm going to re-torque them down once more before I...
GL is not "gone". They do a lot of other government sales (federal, state, and local). Matter of fact, you'll see a special advertising campaign for them starting tomorrow likely.
The carter rotory vane pumps have a high failure rate with the 2nd gen Dodge 24v (VP44) cummins trucks. So much so that mopar solution was to switch to a in-tank retrofit. I've had problems with other rotary vane pumps (Holley) when I tried to use them with diesels. They simply stop pumping...
Any options out there like the Rhino tire carrier? Seems they're hard to come by now. Has anyone fabricated their own? (Besides the horrible ones I've seen for sale on ebay)
One of the security systems employed here updated tonight at around 7:15 and it started blocking IP addresses. You would only have seen a 503 screen. I've unblocked all the IPs over the past hour and a half that logged the same alert. I don't see any more entries in the tables for IPs...
Got it approved. Since it was machining, odds are that the metals found are mainly large in nature. But some things will give off a very fine "chip" depending on the material and machining process. Those typically being non-ferrous in nature. So as long as there's no water in the oils, you...
