I agree. Sometimes sounds can fool you by sounding like they are coming from one place, when actually the sound is actually coming from another place. That being said, you might want to drop the oil pan and check inside.
I remember we had some of those when I was in back in the early 70s, but I never drove one and never looked inside the box. I loved the M715s i drove, but I remember they had some issues with camshaft lubrication and the transfer cases overheated. They were a very good off-road vehicle. Neat...
I looked at the TMs I have on both the 101 and 116 trailers and the leg is shown as vertical in all of the drawings I saw. Also, if you look at the bottom of the foot, the foot doesn't set flat against the ground if the leg is tilted.
I've got my truck mostly loaded tonight, but still need to stop by and pick up ice, drinks and food at the Ingles in the morning. Jim Reese and I should be arriving at DT sometime after noon in our deuces. I decided to bring my Polaris ATP this year, along with an ATV trailer I would like to sell.
You guys that arrived early are killing me. Here I sit working my tail off and two more days before I can leave. I haven't even decided which truck I'm bringing. I will be towing my M149A2 water buffalo this year and dropping it off at Clintos after the rally for some PM he's helping me...
Peppermint oil works great as long as you get good quality peppermint oil. My last bar of Irish Spring soap got eaten by the mice. At first I thought it worked, but not after they started eating it.
I need one wooden bow for an M35A2 in good condition. I also need a drivers seat bottom cushion (non springer) for a deuce in good condition - mice ate mine. If someone has a cargo safety strap for a deuce that is the older canvas type for a good price I may be interested. Actually I could use...
I run 60 psi in my A3 tires. It drives much better and gets better mileage. The Michelin tires are good for 80 psi, but the wheels as previously mentioned are red-lined at 60 psi. I talked to CM Automotive and they told me that the reason the CTIS limits the highway pressure to 45 psi is that...
Dave, you have got to be proud of that truck! No way has anyone been annoyed by your photos. You have been very creative with what you have accomplished.
I considered that, but the sound was a loud deep resonating sound like a large bell. Oh well, everything seems to be working now. I'm not going to take it on any long drives until I assure myself something else isn't wrong. The old belt wasn't that old and it was under proper tension. The...
Thanks Clint. Fortunately, I don't need another compressor. The compressor threw the belt. I have no idea what caused the loud metallic bang. It sounded like a sledge hammer hitting the engine block. I was very happy when I saw the belt was off and that the compressor would turn by hand...
Well, I decided to take my A2 to Atlanta tonight and carry some 12' sheet rock and tools to my daughter's house - a ~225 mile round trip. I started up the A2 and let it idle until it built up air and the buzzer went off. I put it in gear and drove about 50' when I heard a very loud bang and a...
