    mep 003a new owner

I found an NOS Square D manual transfer switch on Ebay for a really cheap price and it works great. I wired the 003A to the transfer switch via a 100 amp pin and sleeve connector. I wired everything myself and had no problem with the inspector.

Official 2012 SS Ga Rally Info thread

I think that's a really great idea. I recommend it be done Friday or Saturday night when the most people are present.

I've had zero problems purchasing 6TLs from Interstate.

The easiest way to get 6TLs is to get them from Interstate. These are very heavy, but I use 6TLs as well.

    Gas Mileage Reporting

I get a lot more than that in my A2 - 10 - 12 mpg with the top off, but you have a lot more wind resistance in the 109. I found it also makes a lot of difference in the mpg due to speed.

I absolutely agree. This was a very poor design from the start, and all A3s are the same as far as I've seen. When I extended my hoses, I used hose that was compatible with fuel, hoping tht would help them last. My original pressure line to the steering actuator was leaking like a sieve.

    Hello from Middle Tennessee

Welcome to Steel Soldiers from the North Georgia Mountains. You have come to the right place. There is a lot of good people and information here. I would recommend that you start reading the TMs on your new A2. There is a lot of good information there that can help you avoid problems.

I found that if you lengthen the two hoses feeding the large hose, the smaller diameter hoses will flex much easier and not put so much strain on the large hose. That being said, you have to be careful how you route the hoses to make sure the hoses don't interact with the tire or get pinched by...

CARNAC, That is definitely not good news! Tell them you missed the plane. Make up something.

AceHigh is absolutely correct. That hose only handles the exhaust side of the actuator. If air is continuously leaking from the large hose, that means that air is leaking from the air assisted steering past seals. The only air that should enter the large hose is air that is released when the...

You only put the oil in the input side of the steering actuator. This lubricates the seals in the acturator as well as the main cylinder. It works better if you jack the front end up and work the steering wheel back and forth from lock to lock about 20 times to thoroughly get the oil to the...

There is another thing that will help with the brass nuts. The nuts are slightly rounded and most sockets are rounded and they don't get a good grip. Use a 6-point socket. If you gring the outer edge of the socket all the way around to the point where you have a sharp edge, the socket will...

Clutch disc, Throw out bearings and Transmissions???

We need more information. When does the noise occur? While driving? While idling in neutral? When the clutch is depressed and not driving? when the clutch is lightly depressed while not driving? If the noise occurs while driving only, check the short drive shaft between the transmission...

You will need to replace the o-ring to get to the grommet, but I can almost guarantee that it is the grommet leaking. I would recommend replacing the brass nut as well as they tend to get rounded off. Make sure you torque the brass nut to 45-60 Lb-Ft when you replace the grommet. Don't use...

In my opinion, regardless of whether you have the angled adapter that is stock or a straight adapter, anyone breaking down an A3 wheel is making a big mistake not replacing the valve stem grommet. These deteriorate with age and also tend to start leaking when they are disturbed when adding air...

    Hard top shape question ?

Put a 2/6 through the door window openings and jack the top back into shape with a bottle jack and a piece of wood against the top. If you're careful it will correct the problem almost 100%. If you are not careful - - - - -

What Plates on a Deuce in GA

As you can see from the copy of my tag receipt, my 18,000 Lb commercial plate only cost $25.00 for the tag and $1.11 for the ad valorem tax for a total of $26.11. The commercial tags are not expensive by any means, so there is really no reason not to use the correct tag. Tags for deuces are...
