Back when Gamagoat.com was up and running, there was a pretty interesting thread about the "rumor" of GamaGoats actually being there. Someone claimed a single still photo of one existed. Other guys chimed in and said there were videos.
Boy, I sure do miss GamaGoat .com (with all due respect...
I have a question about the photo on the left, where the Goat is on a trailer. That appears to be a car-hauler trailer. I am in dire need of a trailer to haul my Goat around. According to my tape measure, my Goat is too wide by about 4 inches to load onto a standard car-hauler. My tape...
My Goat is painted with exterior house paint---latex as I recall and compared to my other MV's painted with enamal (of various brands) it looks like the latex house paint fades less.
Oh yeah, something about re-routing the exhaust so that it dumps down (the left rear inside corner of the engine compartment), rather than above the wheel. Fumes were apparently making the patients being transported grumpy. I don't remember if there was an official depot level change made, or...
There is an extra electrical box on the inside front of the carrier unit. There is also a fold-down step on the tailgate that flops down when you lower the tailgate, as I recall. There are a few other small things, but I 'm up after a 17 hour night-shift, and sleep knocketh on the inside of...
Go to a local China-mart and pick up a bottle of "swirl remover" right next to the rubbing/polishing compound (in the automotive wax area"). About $2 or $3.
Get a 2"-3" buffing wheel at Harbor Freight. (Another $2 or $3.)
Chuck the wheel into your cordless, and SLOWLY buff it out...
Russ passed away awhile back. I thought it was in this particular thread, but apparently not. It was mentioned in one of the military websites. I do believe it was well over a year ago, maybe even over two.
I think so. I saw one a few years before I got into the sub-category of military radios when I started out collecting military vehicles. I didn't care much then. Then, about the same time I really got the radio bug, another one went across my bow, and I didn't have the loot.
The M762 (or...
I am glad this thread got re-started! I am still looking for the smaller trailers with the tower. (M762 or M116?) I know they exist, as I have seen a few a handful of years ago, but none lately.
Pics!!
I would LOVE to post pictures of my Goat, as the entire carrier is full of comm-gear.
When I bought it, it was stripped and had the ever-present million holes drilled all over the rear carrier (as most MV's do after Bubba got ahold of it.) So, being a welder by trade for quite some time, I...
Oops, I meant in my original post was the window screen rubber was for the brake drum. Not the wheel cylinder. Apparently when one removes the brake drum, one usually needs a new seal, hence the hardware store parts.
How long is this endeavor going to take?
Ok, I am tired of constantly dealing with the brakes. Does anyone know if there is a civilian alternative for my wheel cylinders? (Boy I miss the old Gama Goat website) Something I can go to NAPA or O'Reily and pick up? I just saw 6 complete new wheel cylinders on Epay for $100, and that got...
