My M1008 comes back from the body shop tomorrow. It got a new pax door and fender from a mishap with a red Ford Ranger. Apparently, the ranger could not see the CUCV as it has a woodland camo paint design....
Hello from NE Oklahoma. I too want a deuce and may get one someday. I currently have an M-1008 CUCV truck that is being repaired (smashed pax door). I know you're going to LOVE that truck. I drove them for years in the 80's and 90's. I will never forget "ALWAYS DRAIN THE AIR" from the tanks.
I will be traveling that way soon. I will try to find it and stop by to see if anyone is there. Do you have more information on it's location? Please advise...
I too was afraid they would try to total it because of it's age and yes, I did remind them that it is a genuine, well maintained, flawless (is that even possible?) MV. If they had decided to total my truck, I would have paid for the repair out of my pocket. It took me 20 years to find this...

Fortunately, we both have State Farm Insurance and yes, the owner of the Ranger is paying for the damage. It is in the shop now. I have already ordered the paint (quartertonparts.com) and it is on it's way. The shop has located a new fender, door, and hinges. I hope it will be repaired...
I walked into my garage and found a black mess all over my garage floor. Thank goodness I had sealed the concrete! Fortunately, I was able to clean up the mess. After a great deal of investigation, I found the oil leak. Apparently, the fan shroud vibrated enough to rub a hole through the...
A little over a month ago I bought an M1008. This truck was beautifully restored. I found it in North Carolina, flew there on a Friday, bought the truck and drove it back to Oklahoma. It ran awesomely (is that a word?). I love my truck. Last week, I made a delivery from Oklahoma to St...
Howdy from Oklahoma
Hello Smokindodge... I too am from Missouri (St. Louis and Festus). Where are you located? Does your M35 burn diesel or gas? I had an M35 in Korea (1980) that had a Chevy 327 that burned mogas. It was the fastest deuce in the country.
