What is the VIN on? an actual Data Plate? or just scratched into the side? For S&Gs... check the INTERIOR of the A-Pillar where your left leg/foot would be... is there an alpha-numeric set of 6 letters/numbers spray painted there? Also, the front reminds me more of how an Army HMMWV would...

Yes, there is a switch to prevent the truck from starting in gear. Must be in Neutral (or Park if equipped) for the HMMWV to start. Some did get finickey over time on where the lever had to be.

So, I know where they are, but I couldn't get access. They are being stored under 4 large tents (metal framed), in a secure yard. I am aware of the plans for the future but it's not set in stone, we'll have to see what actually happens.

I'm stretching my brain, but I want to say certain things were "color coded". IE Engine was Red, Transmission was yellow, Drivetrain was white... The one I saw had pistons and rods, but it was an early HMMWV. Had to be at the Ordnance school, now located at Ft. Lee. I'm actually going there...
