Well, uship is not doing me any good, if I don't get any bites this time I think a road trip might be in order. Last call for any advice/guys that might be out there. Looking for about/less than $1,000
First one is an in-service Sea-bee truck that I saw in S. Korea. Suspension kit and all. Second is a contact maintenance truck we acquired from the Navy (via DRMO) that is a dually rear, just a tool box instead of the standard bed. you should see something along the lines of the data plates...
IIRC there are essentially two landing gears, one ski, one wheels. they can be operated independent so you don't have the wheels digging in when landing on snow/ice pack. Of course I could be completely wrong.
So... these attach to the battery pan floor, and then the Optimas slide in? So, you could bolt this to an existing battery tray and have a much more secure method for securing the Optima Battery, rather than just a hold/tie-down?
ok, you managed to post this at the exact right time... they were literally maybe 10 miles south of here when I texted them... by now they're probably enjoying a root beer float at the A&W waiting for someone to open up... or rack out and do it tomorrow... not sure of the plan... but man... talk...
Ohhhh.... this is an AWESOME idea. I didn't even think of it... I don't know how far you may have to detour though... call them first thing in the morning. I just sent you a text with their info.
Picture 17, in the first batch. the C-130 with the big "03" on it... is that an "arctic" version? looks like sleds or skis or something around the wheels.
So, I had Iowa Towing grab some underhood pics... thought maybe it wasn't running due to no battery, but there is one in there... Anyone see anything else obvious from these?
Only video I've seen of vehicles so far had 2x LMTVs, a HMMWV ambulance, unarmored, and an M1165 with a SATCOM antenna (I forget which one, the black umbrella looking one) mounted center rear of the C-pillar.
Well, she's out of the DNR's hands, probably picking G&A Logistics from uship tomorrow. they finally got the quote to a reasonable price ($1000 vs. almost $1700).
I had Iowa Towing and Recovery (Ames, IA) pull the truck from the DNR today. Great rates. I also asked, and they have sent me some...
