I put a firetruck horn on my truck. Before the air line ripped, it was great. helped me when hauling a trailer get people out of my way too. It's also not TOO loud (I can only stand so much due to my ears).
Wish I could help, I have a trailer that could fit most of that inside without unloading it... but I'm too far away. Ryder does have 24' with life gates for "local" use (or at least did when I worked for them). They don't know if it stays local or not as long as it doesn't break.
I have someone who might be able to translate. I will check and get back to you.
I am going to go with something along the lines of get out of my way or wide turns. It looks like a stencil, so some unit may have painted a lot of their trucks with it. May have served in Saudi or Kuwait vs. Iraq.
If the OP wants to contact me, I can forward him some existing unit SOPs I have stored (I think) or at least give some actual guidance from an active unit.
I've written motorpool SOPs that include bumper numbering. I've also advised and corrected BDE HQ when they put out a faulty one.
sroller, you just bumped a 3 year old topic.
Net is, you protect the crew, not the truck. Same philosophy for MRAPs. Look through some other posts, I've posted some pretty awesome pics of uparmored vehicles out of the current conflicts.
I don't get why the racks are such rarities? the PLS/LHS hooks are the same setup that you would see on a dumpster retrieval truck. Now, I would understand a CHU bringing premium money as they aren't extremely common, but for the racks...? I don't get it...
