A friend of mine has an M37, 1954, without a winch., ex-Army He bought it from the local fire department about 15 years ago and did a fairly nice job of restoration. It has very good paint, interior is good and no rust. The only issues are that everything on it leaks a little. It seems to...
Yes, it definitely has lube in it. When my problem first started and I lost 5th gear, I pulled the top off the transmission. A lot of teeth were missing on one gear. I'll definitely take pictures and post them once I get the old transmission out.
About fueling, I never shut down. Make sure you don't overfill the tank as you need an airspace for expansion. Many tanks are marked where the full level is. Another point is that the tank is on the passenger side. of a Deuce. When you go into a truck stop you will often have to remove the...
I took the Deuce to a friend that runs a truck garage today. It was very cold and I knew the Deuce was going to be hard to start. I put a magnetic heater on the oil pan for 4 hours before trying to start it. It refused to even fire until I gave it a shot of ether. It took 4 shots of ether...
Clinto,
If you have more difficulties, you might try the main state office located at:
Motor Vehicle Division
1200 Tradeport Blvd.
Hapeville, GA 30354
Phone: (404) 968-3800
That's where I finally successfully received my Deuce title.
This thread is timely. Yesterday I opened the door of my Deuce to do some work in the cab and saw a new 2-inch diameter mouse hole in the middle of the passenger seat bottom. I was pissed! I'm going to try the peppermint oil.
We live deep in the woods under oak trees with plenty of acorns and...
Salafrae you are at the wrong end of the state. It snowed here today in North Georgia, about an inch where I live, but melted away by afternoon. My Deuce has a sick transmission, so I was only able to drive a short distance through the snow. I was afraid the trans would lock up. The trans...
I can normally view videos on other sites without difficulty. For instance, I can go to the videos BIGCASE posted on the Florida SS site and view them fine.
I can not view any videos posted on SS. Everything else works fine with the site. Is there a certain player that I need installed on my PC? I searched the forums and could not find any help.
I recently picked up a MEP-003A GenSet from GL mounted on a M116A2 trailer. I picked it up at Fort Jackson. It was in extremely good condition and fired right up. The trailer even had two new tires and a new cover.
I found a new square-D 400 amp 4-pole manual transfer switch on e-bay for...
I received the new rear engine seal and it looks quite large to me. I haven't pulled the transmission yet, so I don't know how large the seal should be. The new one I received is 6 inches O.D. and 4-7/8 inches I.D., approximately. Does this sound right?
What came on the floor of the A2? From what I remember from my days in the Army, the floors were plain OD paint. I've seen some since that appear to have some type of textured paint or sand added to the paint.
