I have a hard time imagining a bone-dry undercarriage on a CUCV, but that's great news. I overfill mine a little from time to time when I'm topping it off, and it causes hard and late shifting. It's a self-solving problem in my case, but unless you've got an evacuation pump with a long tube, it...
Man, I haven't seen a rear window gun rack since my grandfather was alive. All your truck's missing is one of those "REDNECK" windshield banners they sold at AutoZone in the '90s. Anyway, my truck pushes the ATF out through the transfer case while it's running and the propeller shaft slings it...
You might check your ATF level again. My transmission has the undercarriage corrosion prevention feature, so I have to top it up periodically. It starts behaving like what you described when it's low.
Turns out I am way too impatient to wait for a response from Energy Suspension. I tried two garages and two gunsmiths this morning and none of them wanted my money. That being the case, I went home and hogged them out with vice grips and my wrist snapper:
Ran the 7/16" bit through them first...
Referred to extant online information and found that the M1009 front shackle bolt shanks are 7/16", which according to this chart, is five thou smaller than 11mm. I reckon I got my calipers buried in the threads with my 10.9mm measurement, and it's a good thing I looked it up. Saves me having to...
OE front spring bushing:
Learn from my mistake and do not use "thin metal" blades. I am the proud new owner of four butter knives after not managing to cut all the way through one bushing sleeve:
Contemplated my lack of 10 ton presses, ball joint presses, compressors, air hammers, and...

So it's a flywheel noise. I've been hearing it less and less often, which made me stop worrying about it, but maybe my starter is getting ready to fall out. Thanks for the tip, @WWRD99
Now let's unhijack CUCVRUS's thread. :censored:
If you have a south-facing gable on your barn, that'd be a great place to rack up some solar panels. They've never been cheaper. Believe it or not, I did look into the GM crate EV swap for the K5, but details were too thin and I felt like I'd get in over my head right quick.
Since nobody addressed the fuel dribble, if it's coming from beneath the passenger side generator, it's probably your lift pump. If you're going to dig in, you might as well replace the hoses while you're in there. I didn't and lived to regret it.
Here's the channel I'm asking about:

I had questions about the resolution to the leaf spring bushing situation, but there was never a follow-up.
If that noise you describe sounds like a bell ringing on an old telephone, let me know if you find it. I've been hunting that noise for six months. It started up after some heavy off-roading.
Here I thought people were crazy for installing full side roller glass in squarebodies, but I guess I see now why they do it. What type of critter is that, @cucvrus ?
My experience with an open element filter on the 6.2: Blowby flows right through the tuna can, out the intake, gets sucked in the windows or the HVAC, and blows directly in my face. My dog doesn't like to get in the truck anymore because he knows it's a gas chamber. The airbox strangling the...
Alright, folks. Talk to me like I'm a fool because I am. I got into my wheel wells for the first time, and the only 4x4 I ever owned before was a Suzuki Samurai. I did put some new brake pads and slide pins on my M1009 yesterday and it made all the difference, but it looks like the rotors are...
Palloid gears are sort of like twin perpendicular, helical-cut sprockets instead of a ring and worm? I never heard the word before now and Google image searches weren't particularly instructive.
This sounds like a sponsored post or a promotion, but it isn't. I was all business for years and for all the times I've been on RockAuto's website, I never clicked the "Show Closeouts Only" button at the bottom of the Year/Make/Model/Engine menu, because it was extraneous to whatever task I was...
