Very rural junkyard near me, guy commented on mine- said he drove them in the military. Offered him the key and he laughed and showed me the key he still had on his key chain.
Nothing in the database, but given the age of the trailer and contract it was a long shot. The current contract format is much different too.
Does it show a NSN?
The tent weighs about 100# or so. I push it up on top of the truck by myself. The roof can easily hold the weight of the tent and two people inside.
Yes, just a standard generic roof rack. Each end of the roof rack is held with three bolts, and the spacing of them is such that one passes...
Adding some thoughts about aerodynamics.
I've towed mine behind the Grand Cherokee at 70mph empty and partially loaded and it towed perfectly. No swaying and no drama. As to any aerodynamic penalty I haven't noticed any at all.
Being wider than the jeep allows me to see the running lights...
I'll start with the standard disclaimer; it's your money and your time; spend them any way you want.
From what you've written it sounds to me like you'd save a lot of time and money if you just built the trailer you want from the ground up. That would save a lot of disassembly time- the...
I don't know what overlanding is but I have UHF and VHF comms (may be adding 10/11 meters soon) and a roof top tent rides on the top during the summer.
The fiberglass top is plenty strong enough for the roof rails and the tent.
I'm curious why you went with a very expensive adapter, when you could have easily and cheaply disconnected the mil harness back at the first junction underneath and wired in a proper connector that would fit your truck.
Are you planning to pull the trailer with a mil vehicle too?
Here are a few pictures of what I did:
Duke antenna- stripped.
Modified NMO mount
No-groundplane dual band antenna.
I'll post more of the pictures when I get home.
I think I paid around $900 for the first M1101 I had back in 2012, and later sold it for $2100, so not bad but like you I thought there was an endless supply.
Then we bought the house and I needed a trailer again. I had my eye on a particular trailer with a generator with the idea to pull the...
That's the thing, they look great- or did look great. Not out of round, dented, dirty, or corroded. I'm starting to think they are not really MS-116 thru 118 at all.
I ordered two new lower sections so we'll see how it goes.
Thanks much for the assistance! I will not force the new ones...
It doesn't necessarily need to be fuel leaking out, but air leaking in.
The next time you have it running, park it nose-down overnight and see if it starts easily the next day.
IF YES: You have air leaking in somewhere. My first guess would be the filter, which I had a problem with and fixed...
Finally got all the parts together in one place and ready for install.
Bored a big hole in a cover plate I had laying around- made a lot of noise and mess but it's done.
Then disaster.
Trying to screw the three sections together I managed to destroy the center section. The threads are not...
