I found someone on Facebook who does generator repairs and he’s going to come and look at it and diagnose it for me. He was a mechanic in the army in the mid 70’s, I’ll update how that goes.

Is the avr involved at all during the manual flash?

I’ll check to see if the switch works and check to see if it’s getting voltage.

It is present and I have tried flashing the field, and have had no change.

The main thing is I want help fixing what I have. I don’t want to deal with phase converters. In the end I need a generator to power my trailer, and if I’m going to have a generator it’s going to be 3 phase.

At home, not interested in any phase converters, as I plan on moving soon. My requirements are under 600lbs, under 1000 dollars, and preferably gasoline, but would make diesel work. I’d really want to fix this one as it’s already in my yard, and I already have money invested.

Not very much. I work on commercial ice cream machines and ice machines, and many units use 10-15 amps 3ph. Some even lower, but the reason I purchased this one is it was cheap. I’m not looking to spend any more then 1000 or so on one.

I don’t really want diesel. I prefer gasoline.

the issue is either i have to fix it, or it has to go either to a scrapyard, or sold as is, space is a limitation, the main reason why im even bothering with it, is the fact that the engine only has 30 hours, and i need 3 phase.

i think this may be past my comfort zone, anyone know if a repair shop would take something like this? theres multiple electrical issues, and things that i have no experience in. i do hvac for a living, but i havent done anything like this before, it doesnt help that there is no videos of anyone...

what im seeing is no pattern in the voltage, it doesnt steadily increase or decrease, the voltage is different every time i start the set. ill check the variable resistor, but it seems to be fine as when turning it, the voltage changes a bit.
