Rebuilt or remanufactured is always a gamble. My '68 Nova had eight carbs on it before the parts counter guy finally told me I could get a new one for only $20 more (in 1981ish). It got to where I could swap them out with my eyes closed.
When I was flying Starlifters we would sometimes be...
I ordered a set of two from amazon. Maybe I'll get lucky and the key they send me will work in the ignition and rear window lock. If not I'll have two keys.
I'm looking on rockauto and they sell the locks, but not sets. I want everything keyed alike like it is, but I don't want to dissemble a new lock and swap tumblers around.
The rain finally stopped so I was able to get under the hood and attack the cracked power steering pump bracket. Out here in WA, it's warm in the winter when it's raining, but once the clouds clear off it gets freaking cold; so I bundled up.

Then I looked through the -20 and noticed it was supposed to be facing the front (not...
That may be the problem. On my truck Bracket 11 in the figure is on the pump but isn't being used. Bracket 9 is facing upwards as shown in the photo above. Bolt 7 was never installed since I've had the truck.
What the heck?
The bracket in the picture is down way too low to be associated with the power steering. In fact you can see the power steering bracket in the left side of the puicture. The bracket I'm seeing is way down by the motor mount.
It just keeps getting worse. The bolt did not back out- it broke. I drilled it out easily without removing the pump. I had a couple bolts that fit the hole so no problem there.
The bracket is cracked... AGAIN. This time it cracked at the center slotted adjustment hole. Right now only one...
