Cab lift and spare tire cylinder replacement

Looking at some other ones. I looks like the problem is going to be modifying for the extra overall length. For a 24” stroke you have to add about 10” for an overall length of 34”.

I guess I’ve never looked for an actuator with that capacity. They are out there this one can get up to 5,600 lbs very impressive! Definitely got me thinking.

If you make it work I would love to see pictures of it and the brand of actuator.

    CTIS bench test harness

Interesting, so what do you mean by bad wiring? And how would it affect the CTIS. 9 years ago when I purchased my 2003 A1 the CTIS controller was bad, purchased a new one and never had another problem with the controller. Never having wiring problems but many different electrical components...

    Wet Cab Floor Drivers Side

No, I’ve only used it once or twice. Mostly because I hand wash the windshield every morning before we drive when it’s buggy out.

    Wet Cab Floor Drivers Side

Well I hate to admit it but I'm calling defeat after spending a few more hours trying to figure out where the water is coming from! This morning I researched what the back of the gen 2 AC looks like and I found that the area behind the CTIS all the way forward, the part you can't see is actually...

Cab lift and spare tire cylinder replacement

Electric actuators are longer than hydraulic actuators for the same stroke length. So fitting a longer actuator in the same space would be the first hurdle the second would be strength.

    Wet Cab Floor Drivers Side

Thank Ron I’ll get the Walmart brand! 😂 I tried that first with the hose spray nozzle spraying each area that I could possibly enter the vehicle. I didn’t as far as pressure washer but I’m not driving into the wind through a hurricane. But maybe I should go there next.

    Wet Cab Floor Drivers Side

Working on a 2003 M1079A1 with gen 2 AC. The drivers side floor where your feet are is always damp between the spray in bed liner and the fitted floor mat, same as original just black. Some times it's more wet than other times, but never consistent with rain. Today I decided to find the problem...

M1078A0/ Allison MD3070/ Drain Plug Threads

Probably not enough thread engagement for helicoil. Find a different drain plug with larger thread diameter and tap to match it. But insuring you get all the chips out is going to be the most difficult part.

    LMTV door hinge lubrication

Neither, just age and moisture caused the bottom hinge to seize up.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

That’s what I thought so I wasn’t sure what the delete was recommended for in the directions.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Thanks Rick, years ago my ECM died and I purchased a new ECM from cat and they programmed it to 330, activated cruise, set cruise setting to the lowest mph possible and saved the data for future needs. I’m may send it to you just for back up reasons. What’s the charge?

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

So if I have caterpillar program it they need 31,309 to enter into the ECM? I thought it was a percentage that they needed.
