    Gasket makers

Not far from Hill City, in Whitewood. Between Sturgis (the motorcycle rally capital of the world!!!) and Spearfish. I see your location is Burgkundstadt? I grew up in Stuttgart, and met my wife and lived in Ansbach for about 9 years, not that far from where you are. Funny.

Yea, thanks for the encouragement... But, it happened to Mogman. That stings a bit. The Mog has been there for me many a times....

Hell yea, I didn't even think of that option. Thanks @Mrgior31513 I did remove the link. Again, to all who may have followed my advice, please refrain in the future...

Simple actually, if you put them in the wash and then into the dryer on high temperature for about 45 minutes, the shrink ratio is exactly 49.74%, (the rest is negligible you may have to fill the rest in with RTV).:unsure::rolleyes: Just kidding, aaaagggghhhhh!!!!!!! I did an Ebay...

M1123 A2 Power Steering return line blowing off

Take a look if it is near the steering arms/pitman arms, so when you steer it could pull it off. Do you have a hose clamp on it? Pictures could help us help you diagnose...

    Gasket makers

You're right, they are all available online, even free shipping to the house, but here in these neck of the woods, I couldn't find ANY anaerobic readily available in store. The not curing inside the tube is definitely a positive aspect!

And that is the main reason I started the topic, I agree 100%. Sort of a constant battle in my head when one side wants me to get the job done, the other screams just what you said. I finished the two front hubs with the black gear oil resistant yesterday morning because that is what I had in...

    Gasket makers

Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably do the same, just because I did the diffs first and thought it would call for the same on the hubs, so I bought enough for all. And I don't understand the Anaerobic character need, maybe someone knows? EDIT: And there I go and find out: This site...

Can I use the normal gear oil silicone (black stuff) for the hubs? Thoughts?

Yea ,I saw that but this was more available and half the price.... https://www.permatex.com/products/gasketing/black-gasket-makers/permatex-ultra-black-rtv-silicone-gasket-maker-3-35-oz/ I hope the black RTV is as good as the green you pointed out. That is awesome information... That makes...

    Gasket makers

Hey all, quick poll and looking for more insight into gasket maker material, and types. I am currently working on the geared hubs on the wheels. According to the TM, the gasket maker needed is an anaerobic (meaning it only cures in the absence of air), the differentials the TM called for RTV...

Makes a lot of sense... Thanks TOBASH and Retiredwarhorses Awesome, as always. Thank you. This is what I was looking for.

You are correct on the tints of them. Almost 100% sure it is new, as a week ago the water/fuel I drained was clear. But I only drained 1/2 cup really. The truck was sitting at the GP yard for some time, I think it was decommissioned in late 2022, so I hope no one was really messing around with...

    It's alive!!!

Yea, will be doing that. Thanks. Well, after you mention that, shortly after the two "purging" incidences where ATF came squirting out of the lines, I drained some diesel from the fuel system drain valve. Sure enough, it was very pink-ish. I am certain the ATF fluid got pushed through the Tee...

Wow, 15 degrees. That is going to be 19"+ wheel height at a wheelbase of 10' 10". My guess it will help with the trapped air hitting some elbow lines? Didn't see that in the TM. But I believe it. Thanks!

    It's alive!!!

Haven't had it running long enough to pay attention the fan. Will start looking out thou. Yea, the line is connected to the PS cap, and runs to the filter. The lines are open where the Cdr used to be, and it's open where the fording canister used to be. Should I plug all these? One of my low...

I have, but with the style without the fording connection.

    It's alive!!!

Thanks for replying. It is the older style, the reservoir is built in the pump, service cap/port is below the generator. But the only difference between no P/S and no P/S and gushing out when shut down is if I have the TDM/Cadillac Valve connected electrically. If it's disconnected it does not...
