Definitely annoying.
Man, I hope I don't have to wait 16 days. This company also told me (on the low-down) they don't charge storage. Probably a scare tactic IMO. It would be my luck they'd start and I'd run up a tab of a few hundred $$$...
The company is a top provider through GP, but I hired them outside of Veritread. They're reputable, or so I think. The route is hard to fill, I get that, but I would just like to have the truck here...
If AWOL went through similar, I should be ok too. Probably average in that industry, and I am...
Yea, the terms are the generic ones, 8 days blah blah.
The pickup hasn't been scheduled yet, the item was released last Monday and I sent the release info last Wednesday. It's getting down to the wire.
The storage charges are $25 per extra day. But if I have to look for another hauler, it may...
Hey all,
I was wondering who has had storage charges from the GP yard, and at what point did they start?
My shipping company is slooooooowwwwww and I am afraid they may start charging me soon... Bummer.
Thanks in advance.

Yea, I fugured that will be the case. The company is just a third party agency, they will ire the transport out. As long as the truck and parts get here, (sometime this century would be nice), I'd be happy.
Thanks Frau Hansen,
as tempting as it is, I'd follow Mogman's and others advice to complete a full PM check before... Just because you don't know how the truck was treated in the last year.
But I understand your meaning, that roadtrip would be fantastic. 950 miles, 3 days, nothing but fun and...
Shouldn't have to, right, but my guess is it will happen much more often than not that it's left back there. Plus there is no cover over the cab, so I hope I can convince the driver to secure the stuff somewhere. Let's see
Unfortunately, I think you are going to be right... As far as I know it's not picked up, yet, so I may have a chance to get them to secure all that. fingers crossed
Oh wow, I had no idea. Thanks!!!!
IF the parts arrive with the truck I will have an extra tube and doghouse cover for trade/sale/pay it forward. Good to know.
Thanks!

One of the pics from GP shows some extra parts in the back of my M1123. I know the door and doghouse cover, but no idea what the third part in the picture could be. Something fording?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Awesome, thank you Coug. I knew it delays and disconnects the fan, but I must have misunderstood the theory of operation. Do you think there is or isn't much of a problem here? I found the troubleshooting section in the TM for it, so I'll work on that once it's here...
Hey, shout out to all experienced mechanics here...
Question. My M1123 (still on it's way from the yard, not here yet) has the fan clutch control box (also known as the time delay solenoid) disconnected. I haven't had the chance to work on it you, but to save troubleshooting time, does anyone...
You are correct on that. I haven't heard from the shipping company, but I knew it will be a few days before they have a load together. Bugging the point of contact will not make anything go faster. So, patience is a virtue. And a bitch.
Thanks for the input.

Thanks. I'll contact them to see what options are out there... I would like to keep it somewhat original, but also functional.
Prices are a bit crazy for these necessities, supply and demand I guess is the driving factor. Man, I love capitalism.
