:-D This thread got pretty funny for a minuite!
And I think the general consensus is that a 5 ton motor in a 2 1/2 ton truck is a good thing.
Ah, don't worry about a goof like that. Besides, it flew over ole' gimp's head even when he was asked the question directly. What a goober! :razz...
I think what gimp was saying was that he had 72 wheels that fit a hemmt in tha back of his truck at one time. A pallet of 12 of these wheels weighs a little over a ton, I think.
Creekside blows in every sense of the word.
DSCC is pretty decent if you can get past the supercops at the truck gate. (The guards at the main gate are pretty cool.)
Dayton is THE place to go.
Good call on the truck checkout, cj. I did the same thing with the last deuce I got there. (The pics...
Yeah, good luck with that... The last time I "slept" in the same county as gimp I thought I was in an old porky pig/daffy duck cartoon. :deadhorse:
Sure wish I could go. I'm working a few last-minuite angles, but it still doesn't look good.
I think you could stick the second box under that one, then shift it forward toward the cab to stay clear of the tire.
You might try cramming the other box on the other side and cutting an access door in the bottom for fuel pump fuse replacement. It would add unnessecary complications, but you...
Ole Bill's still alive. I thought for sure I killed him when he didn't call the next day. The only issue on the ride back was fog. It was thick from about 10 miles out of your place until we got below akron. Then it hit again right before cambridge. Friggin' stuff had us down to 40 mph for a...
I picked the ole' girl from westfolk on tuesday, and it took 24 hours (almost exactly) to get the job done. Me and nitebawler split out of here at 6am tuesday and got back in the driveway at 6am wednesday. We had to change some tires, and do a quick checkout before the 300 mile (+/-) trip home.
I should be headed back over to the coal mine this week and I'll get you a few pics.
It came coiled in a plain cardboard box, and had to be cut to length after the mounting hole was enlarged. Then the original clamp thingy on the engine-end needed the center hole drilled out because the cable...
I picked one up from miltrucks a good while back and put it in my 818 winch truck. The mounting hole needed to be opened up quite a bit, but it was sooooooooooooooo worth it. Almost as nice as power steering and electric windshield wipers!
And wouldn't you know it, I don't have a single pic of...
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't think any of the 3/4 ton trailers have a crank. You just pull a pin, fold down the leg, and put the pin back in. You gotta lift the lunett off the pintle and set it on the ground by hand.
I was talking to a guy that had a deuce with a blown motor for sale a long time ago. The last time it ran, he told his daughter to shut it down, she pulled the wrong cable, and the motor ended up with a nice bay window in the block.
It probably won't happen to you, but there's always a chance.
