Get some of the vhf low band radios that were used for firefighting--- if you get something like the kenwood mobile land vhf low-band radios, they are programmable and will cover the same range (observe all licensing requirements)...... They will work with the prc-77, rt524, rt246, rt68, etc--...
There is a way to scam the scammer that tries this but it is not necessarily 100% legal in all jurisdictions--- lets just say that I tried it once and took the scammer for a change--- well it was in all likelihood paypal that just absorbed the cost rather than ruffle feathers but I like to think...
Or you could just buy the correct mil one here on this site in the classifieds--- US made- not chi-com garbage, correct with vent ports, and correct mil issue.......

This may sound labor intensive but the results are worth it in my opinion....... I put down three coats of my base-- in this case, the 383 green.... I add a synthetic enamel hardener to the first two and allow a full cure between coats. Yes, the hardener makes it more of a satin to almost...

I might also add that the standard three prong civi socket can be had from a certain site that rhymes with "bay".... get the ceramic ones though--- they take heat better and last longer.......
NDT's pic is spot on....... H6024's are a drop in replacement for the mil headlight (in 12volt for the lmtv)....
And if one wanted H6024's on the cheap, they can be found here...
