Yea that existing A0 mount takes up quite a bit of space. modifying it to mount a J180 type tabbed alt as seen is a cost effective way to mount a single, But I agree, fitting two in there using that existing mount would probably not work. IME, particularly with power systems, I am a larger fan...
ok, perhaps some of your numbers are off.
1. A starter rarely pulls its full power rating except briefly initially getting things turning, and only a fraction of that thereafter even when cold.
2. Pulling large amounts of current out of a battery throws basic AH calculations out the window...
On the 3126 and C7 the fan is controlled by the ECU, not a temp sw like in the A0, so there may be other factors the ECU is considering when it activates the fan…
Thats why you throw heat at cold, not amp hours… for below zero, diesel coolant heater/arctic kit, and 2 batts would start it just fine… Or just use the russian method and start a fire under the engine:)
Yea, each D memory location should have two sets of numbers associated with it, IE 22-14. Was the mode light lit with any code(active fault)?
To clear codes, Press and hold the mode button. You will hear a beep at 3 seconds(clears current faults), and again at 10 seconds(clears all stored...
Hence the caution to not park uphill when raising the cab. This truck has no mechanical uplock, only the hydraulic controls hold it in place
On level ground it goes past the balance point when fully raised, but only by a little. If you set the hydraulic controls to the lower position, you...
What is the voltage reading at the front screw terminal on the voltage regulator?
The battery is the main stbilizer of the alternator output. The two work as a team. In order to work in this capacity, it must have a good connection. I would start by stripping every connection between alt and...
If you haven't already done so, Now is an excellent time to drop to 2 batts... 2 is more than enough for the truck, and unless you drive it daily, 2 batts will get a better chance to reach full charge when you do drive it...
how much sidehill? How are your cab bushings?
A little sidehill should be OK. if you lift it and the cab latch wants to mis-align, your front bushings are probably shot. in the end, the rear mount is flexible being on air shocks, if it can handle the side loads while driving, it should be...
Yea the shipping numbers for larger items are crazy. I have a snorkel assembly to sell and shipping is horrendous. Its actually cheaper to send it as 2 pieces/packages...
Well I don’t have any 1088 info available, but this video shows it on a 1079. When mounted, the end of the lever arm on the load sensing proportioner should be directly above the bracket that the cable attaches to…
Flashing and clicking is a classic bad/high resistance connection symptom. Resistance resists current flow not voltage, so like a kink in a hose, you can have full voltage/ pressure everywhere in a circuit untill you try and pull current thru that resistance. Then the lower current flow causes...
And of course this discussion reminded me i did replace the flywheel sensor and I do have a frequency counter… freq in HZ X 60 = cycles per minute / 133 teeth = revolutions per min…
I ran 5 stall tests, 2nd gear in mode, full pedal and allowed about 5 seconds for the RPM to stabilize after...
