What did you do to your deuce this week?

Hence the old saying, "Measure twice, cut once". Personally with wood I measure three or 4 times, it gets my success rate over 90 percent.

    ISO SB 11-640

Have you tried > https://www.loc.gov/rr/scitech//SciRefGuides/technicalmanuals3.html or do an FOIA for SB 11-640, ACTIVE, 02/23/1978, INSTALLATION OF TIEDOWN KIT AND FABRICATION OF DUNNAGE FOR INSTALLATION OF SHELTERS, ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, to > Supply Bulletins - Army Publishing...

Questions about Cargo cover for Deuce

You still put the ends on, but the front end has a lot more 'interference' for the wind and rain when you are going down the road. I had a similar experience where I bought a deuce from GL (10+ years ago). It had two old style cargo covers in it, the 'short one' was five feet longer than it...

Questions about Cargo cover for Deuce

It gives you more to tie down in the front, which will mean less air getting in from the front because all the top's front edge is behind the cab. Just position it so you have the six inch overlap in the back and all the extra in the front.

RustOleum Rusty Metal Primer (the red version)

I've let RMP dry at least 48 hours, in warmer weather than is currently prevalent in the USA. As I think I stated earlier, I put it on the inside of the cargo deuce bed, then put the green Behr paint on top. Each coat got 48-72 hours of drying in summer S.C. weather. That was five years ago...

    My first multifuel?

Not sure solder will fix it. I think that is made of "pot metal" that is cast. A high temperature epoxy might be a better choice. Let us see if more experienced minds will speak up on the subject.

Will a Motorola MT1000 Communicate with the RT-524?

6 meters is the only amateur frequency available on the RT-524, that is, from 50 to 54 Mhz. And there may be local restrictions. Most of the frequencies that I've seen posted by HAM's run around 51 Mhz.

    My first multifuel?

    Low air pressure.

    Missing SF97 Info

Each state has specific requirements for a vehicle to be considered an RV. Some combination of the following elements - Bed, cooking (stove, oven), bathroom (Toilet/shower), refrigerator, water (fresh, gray and black), sink. and there may be other items that vary state by state and one...

    Missing SF97 Info

One of my deuces got registered as a PK (Pick-up), mainly because I was explaining to the clerk it had a bed with sides and a tailgate, but much larger. So she said "Like a pickup?", I replied, "Yes but bigger". It's a pickup that has a GVW of 21,000 pounds. Go figure.

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

No, they are military official colors. During WWII Olive Drab came in at least 8 different paint colors and almost as many different canvas(cloth) colors, mainly because different companies were making them, they had different 'formulas', and some materials needed for the exact tint were not...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

MY spin on oil filters don't leak (maybe a little bit) when I change them. And I have always been able to mop up any spills without getting any on the rest of the engine. What has been your problem?

    M35A2W/W Master cylinder replacement

Get the other three fastening bolts in and snug before trying that last one on the bottom outer side. That way if your vocabulary fails you, there is still the over-enginnering safety factor that will allow driving the truck in a normal fashion.

    M35A2W/W Master cylinder replacement

That one can be done 'easily' if you use a deep socket, a six inch extension, a universal joint, another six inch extension and a ratchet wrench, with most of the assembled tool threaded through the hole in the frame crossmember. I have always put all four fasteners in. YMMV.

Interesting article from Army Times abput radios

Yep, midnight raids with flash-bangs and helicopter gunships serious!

    Looking for TM's

If you furnish the USB drive (at least 8 GB size) I'll return it free of charge, filled with as many manuals as I can cram on it. There is an old thread loosely called "MKT Thumb Drive" where I listed the contents when it was only 1.8 GB, last one I made was over 8GB.

Interesting article from Army Times abput radios

Anything with crypto capabilities will be smashed and chopped up, then burned before being released.

    M35A2W/W Master cylinder replacement

I had some serious problems removing a MC on one of my trucks - mainly because there were two capped ports on the back of the MC that would not fit through the hole in the crossmember. Had to remove one of them so the MC would clear. I do not have any other MC's like that one, but I suspect...

Current Power-outages in South West Florida and new River Flooding

I wound up going to Arcadia the week of Oct 9-15 to work in a mass feeding kitchen. On Monday we put out 8000 meals at a time, by Friday it was down to 1300 because power was being restored. Chain saw team that I'm normally with was busy all week long. When we got there there were 4,000...

    Looking for TM's

The Field Sanitary Center (2) is a real biggie (or at least the copy I have is), mainly because it has movies to go along with each work package. It is 485 MB on the MKT Thumb Drive. I also have the original FSC manual (TM 10-7360-211-13P). It is only 2.23 MB.
