"Also, the weather forcast looks good for the next several days!
And If we do get some rain,at least it won't be freezing cold!"
Ya' had to say that? :goodjob:
Just got done greasing all 12 ujoints and checking the wheel bearings. Loaded the GPS map and looks like the M151A2 is ready to roll. Just got to fit all my crap in it!
What? That world famous Lucas/Smith heater doesn't work? LOL!
I freeze my butt off in the 109 so I'm going to fab a "fume curtain" to help trap what little heat that comes out of the heater in cab.
New vinyl/PVC top coming from Blanchard too! (might actually stay dry inside)
Found some new camo log books and some more NATO adapters, I'll be bringing them. Also found some flaming bomb lead seal pliers.
Will be looking for M151 antenna corner mount.
The boards Uncle Sugar used is mahogany. The side boards and seat boards in deuces and 5tns were. Back in the 80's my maint. shop used to replace the decking on the bigger flat bed trailers and we had mountains of thick wide mahogany boards. It was said the chief's home off post had solid...
If you ever looked under the seats of a Hmmwv in service you always found a few qrts of engine oil and trans fluid stashed.
They all leak a lil' bit, that's why the first thing you did prior to using it was your PMCS. Check the fluids, then check for junk that fell off. LOL!
If anyone needs parts for the old military gasoline lanterns let me know. I have alot parts for them but no generators.
Get that flaming lantern of death all fixed up! :burn:
Also will bring a once used Wenzel kerosene lantern with wooden crate if someone wants it. $125
The DT Telico site makes it look pretty nice! Some of those trails look big enough to barely fit a deuce. You'd be screwed if you had to do a turn a round or had to pass.
Your load doesn't increase. Example, if a truck weighs 10tn sitting on flat ground it still weighs 10tn when you pick it straight up 90deg.
If you've factored 1/7th veh weight for rolling resistance on flat grass then yes you will need to add in .50% for a 30deg grade increase... Or you could...
I've found a good trick. Once the bolts are blasted or wire brushed toss them in some Ospho from Ace hardware or Jasco from Lowes to etch and phos coat them. Then stick them in cardboard and 2 light coats of spray paint. Paint sticks really well to the etched fasteners and the phos will help...
LOL! Mine's RHD too. You actually pass other cars n trucks on the road?? Braver man than I!!! The right hand drive makes it easy to check the mail box though it's a real pain to order at the drive thru!
Sweet lil' lightweight! Y'a want a 109?? Hahahaaa! Bring it to the rally! (or my house!)
The...
I hope that answered your tackle block question. Kind'a got side tracked. 8)
Slope or uphill pull shouldn't have any effect on calculations, just like water.
Mire factor(how deep the truck is stuck in the slop) friction is the only load increasing factor. TLR will decrease if it's a rolling...
Don't forget your tackle resistance which is 10% of your load resistance (veh. weight +cargo weight X mire factor - reduction factor) X # number of sheaves (1 less than # of mechanical advantage) which will finally give you your total load resistance.
I used to do alot of 1-1 pulls when I used...
